POSITION PROFILE
Job Summary: The Shipping and Receiving Specialist will be responsible for managing all aspects of shipping and receiving, including handling digital mail duties. This role ensures that all incoming and outgoing shipments are processed efficiently and accurately, and that digital mail is managed effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
Shipping and Receiving:
Receive, inspect, and verify incoming shipments. Prepare and package outgoing shipments according to company standards. Maintain accurate records of all shipments and inventory. Coordinate with carriers and vendors to ensure timely delivery of goods. Resolve any issues related to shipping and receiving.Digital Mail Duties:
Manage and distribute digital mail, including scanning and electronically filing documents. Ensure digital mail is processed promptly and accurately. Maintain digital mail records and databases. Assist with the implementation and maintenance of digital mail systems.Inventory Management:
Monitor and manage inventory levels. Conduct regular inventory audits and reconcile discrepancies. Maintain organized and clean storage areas.Customer Service:
Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders regarding shipment status and issues. Provide excellent customer service to ensure satisfaction.Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent. Proven experience in shipping and receiving, inventory management, or related roles preferred. Strong organizational and time management skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to lift and move heavy packages.Working Conditions, MENTAL AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Typically works in an office environment with adequate lighting and ventilation, and a normal range of temperature and noise level. Requires internal contact within department and with other corporate personnel, and external contact with customers, agencies, vendors, etc. Work assignments are diversified. Examples of past precedent are used to resolve work problems. New alternatives may be developed to resolve problems. Modest physical effort is required. Work does require walking, standing, bending, reaching, lifting or carrying objects that may weigh up to 50 lbs. (e.g., papers, books, files, and small parts, etc.). A fairly high level of dexterity is required in the regular use of a variety of hand tools. These tools will include, but are not limited to, screwdrivers, pliers, wrenches, and some electronic testing equipment.
