Your Role:

 

The Shipper/Receiver III is an advanced-level position responsible for efficiently managing the shipping and receiving of materials, ensuring the safe and quality-focused handling of both outgoing and incoming shipments. This role involves overseeing the movement, protection, storage, and control of materials and products, as well as their proper disposal when necessary. Additionally, the Shipper/Receiver III plays a key role in training and mentoring junior team members, acting as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) to support process improvements. The position requires the safe operation of material handling equipment such as hand trucks and forklifts, as well as the accurate entry and verification of material transactions. The role also includes troubleshooting and investigating any issues that arise, ensuring smooth and efficient operations at all times.

 

 

Duties Include: 

 

Perform advanced level shipping and receiving duties in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures, Quality and Safety Specifications and GMP standards.  Place items in the warehouse by packing/unpacking and transporting using forklifts and pallet jacks as required. Duties will also include packing, scanning, labeling, and counting materials.  Ensure adherence to environmental management systems. Complete and verify accuracy of orders and complete transactions and documentation per GMP standards. Ensure a clean and orderly workspace. Proactive identification of safety, quality, and productivity concerns. Actively report hazardous conditions or hazardous behaviors observed in the work area and the site. Participate in sustainability efforts. Actively communicate and participate in shift changeovers with colleagues and leads. Escalate issues to the next level (operations, lead, supervisor, etc.) Perform full review of completed transactions as required to include material reconciliation of ERP transactions.  Fill in as a back-up lead as needed. Participate in process improvement projects as requested. Provide coaching and mentoring of other team members in how best to optimize flow. Works under minimal supervision. Willing to be a certified trainer.

 

Physical requirements 

 

Exposure to machinery and equipment in a warehouse and manufacturing environment.  Exposure to chemicals and other hazardous materials. 100% Standing for duration of shift, up to 12 hours. Frequent lifting of 20 - 30 lbs. necessary/Max lifting – 40 to 50 lbs. Bend and twist as needed. Grasp, manipulate and handle objects consistently and regularly. Work in a clean room environment. Pass a DOT physical. 

 

 

Who You Are

 

Minimum Qualifications:

 

3+ years Shipping/Receiving experience in a fast-paced GMP warehouse environment. High school diploma or GED. 1+ years’ experience with ERP systems.  

 

Preferred Qualifications: 

 

5+ years’ experience in a warehouse or manufacturing environment. Yellow Belt and/or lean certificate. Certified in all areas of shipping and receiving or equivalent relevant experience. Advanced knowledge of DOT, EHS, ISO, cGMP, and other regulatory requirements. Intermediate computer skills, familiarity with Microsoft Office applications. Reliable and self-motivated. Read, follow and understand operating procedures and documentation. Experience handling chemical and hazardous materials. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
