Capability Life Cycle Manager (CLCM)

The CLCM is integrated into the System Program Office (SPO) and contracted to deliver through-life asset management of Products being supported (PBS). The CLCM performs asset, sustainment, and engineering functions to optimise availability and Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) and minimise risk through life of the PBS. The CLCM works collaboratively via the SPO with Regional Maintenance Centre’s (RMC) to plan maintenance activities and installation of capability upgrades. The CLCM works collaboratively via the SPO with the Design Services Contract (DSC) to plan and execute engineering changes and services. The CLCM delivers functions against the contract scope across the Asset Class Enterprise to support Defence Maritime Capability.

The Opportunity:

The Ship Lead is responsible to the Maintenance Support Manager for the delivery of matters relating to maintenance management on the platform being supported.

The Ship Lead will coordinate the Maintenance Support Services in accordance with the Asset Management and Seaworthiness frameworks, as well as provide assurance activities on the Annual, One plus One, and Five-Year Work Programs for the platform being supported.  

The Ship Lead will assist in developing Work Instructions, and will participate in preparing Work Packs, including working with assigned subcontractors. The Ship Lead will be responsible for ensuring the assigned subcontractors follow the required safety and environmental requirements, as well as possess the required work/high risk permits.

This role is based out of Garden Island, Sydney.

Responsibilities:

Responsible for maintenance task management.Exercise programmatic assurance reports over the Stage Gate 1 to 6 end to end processes.Review and monitor ACS CLCM maintenance activities.Maintain familiarity with ship configurations and their documented baselines.Lead the URDEF process for the rectification of corrective maintenance.Develop and deliver written reports to the CoA as require by the CLMC contract.Review Technical Work Instruction development.Conduct Technical Investigations on defence and key systems.Available to embark on RAN ships for periods in support of CLCM activities.

As the ideal candidate you will bring:

Essential:

As a minimum, recognised Vocational Education and Training qualification (Minimum AQF 5) in product relevant Technical Trade or Engineering disciplines.Previous experience in Maintenance Management and leading a maintenance team to develop and maintain management schedules in a Defence environment.Experience in the Defence Project and Contract Management environment.Demonstrated knowledge of contemporary maintenance practices including condition-based maintenance,Working knowledge of NLIS Systems (CMT-U and AMPS).

Desirable:

Higher level Engineering, Technical Trade, or maritime competences.Prior experience as a Waterfront Engineer or Ship Superintendent (Defence).Proven skills and experience in leading contracted planned maintenance and breakdown activities.

All candidates will be required to hold and maintain an active Negative Vetting 1 Defence Security Clearance. Only candidates holding an NV1 Clearance or above should apply.
