Volt is immediately hiring multiple Sheet Metal Mechanics for immediate hire in downtown San Diego.

\r\n\r\n

As a Sheet Metal Worker you will:

\r\n\r\n\r\n\tPerform layout, fabrication, assembly, and mockup of diversified types of parts, subassemblies, and assemblies following work orders, schematics or blueprints.\r\n\tPerform any operation before or after machining and welding required to fabricate and assemble all types of parts and assemblies.\r\n\tMake layout necessary to establish locations of parts, trim lines bosses, hole and flange patterns, where dimensions and fittings are exacting, requiring the use of mathematics to calculate dimensions.\r\n\tMake layouts on flat and formed sheet metal parts and trim, form, bend, and roll difficult shapes making allowances for metal distortion.\r\n\tSet up and operate all types of resistance welding equipment\r\n\tLoad jigs and fixtures as necessary to perform work.\r\n\tCheck weld in process by making a sample etch, cutting and polishing sample, as required.\r\n\tAssist weld engineer in developing procedures by setting up and operating resistance welding equipment\r\n\tTrim, bend, form and roll sheet metal parts and bar stock. \r\n\tMay layout and fabricate sheet metal products for maintenance, such as splash guards, coolant pans and tanks, catch tanks, etc.\r\n\r\n\r\n

We are looking for people who can work 1st (6am – 2:30pm) or 2nd shift (2pm - 10:30pm). Positions are temp for 15 months with possibility of going temp to perm quickly.

\r\n\r\n

The ideal candidate will have:

\r\n\r\n\r\n\tAbility to read and understand blueprints, manufacturer’s drawings\r\n\t1 year of experience in a sheet metal role\r\n\tMust have a verifiable high school diploma or GED\r\n\tMust be able to pass a criminal background check and drug screen at time of hire \r\n\r\n\r\n

Pay Rate: 24-25/hr
