SUMMARY
§  The Production Team Lead role is responsible for building engineered HVAC units and ensuring their production assembly cell is actively engaged to meet daily customer demand and production schedule.
§  The Production Team Lead provides effective training to the department employees and ensures safety and quality standards are always maintained.
§  The production Team Lead will be responsible for one of the following departments: refrigeration, sheet metal, wrap.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.  Other functions may be assigned.
·        Responsible to assist the shop supervisor in performing mid-year reviews, year-end reviews, and PMP functions as set forth by company guidelines.
·        Responsible to build engineered HVAC equipment, utilizing equipment, construction skills, and knowledge of skills needed for a specific team.
·        Promote and adhere to LEAN guidelines.
·        Is responsible for maintaining his/her trade team build standards and to work with other teams to accomplish this.
·        Follows the standards and guidelines set for that trade team or station.
·        Responsible for the build of assigned projects.
·        Prepares for assigned personal projects by examining project binders, consulting with the project manager and other technicians, anticipating difficulties, gathering materials, and coordinating work, as necessary.
·        Documents work by completing paperwork on each job, including daily time, refrigerant logs, test logs, and parts logs.Â
·        Maintains project files.Â
·        Participates and prepares documentation for new hire onboarding.
·        Turns in all required paperwork and reports in a timely manner.
·        Effectively works with purchasing and stocking personnel and returns unused resources.
·        Identifies parts to order for construction, testing, and repair of equipment.
·        Assists with general office and shop initiatives as needed, helping to improve the business while controlling expenses and increasing income.
·        Works closely with other technicians, project managers, project engineers, and interns in a team environment, offering technical advice, status information, and other help as needed.
·        Communicates effectively with project managers and teammates regarding issues of project scope and schedule.
·        Attends, contributes to, and/or leads meetings with team members and management as needed.
·        Follows company standards for construction and quality.
·        Follows company safety policies.
·        Promotes company safety policies to team members and subcontractors.
·        Provides technical support to customers when required on assigned projects.
·        Flexibility to work overtime/weekends, as required.
·        Flexibility to occasionally work in other company departments when needed.

·        Does not have any supervisory responsibilities.Â
·        Assists in interviewing and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work.

QUALIFICATIONSÂ

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
·        Two years of college or technical school; or four (4) years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.Â
·        Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products required.Â
·        Familiarity with mechanical contracting, Energy Management Systems, HVAC Systems and/or Temperature Controls preferred.

LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.  Ability to write simple correspondence.  Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.  Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

This position requires working mainly in a typical semi-conditioned shop environment and occasionally in a typical conditioned office environment.  The noise level in the shop environment is usually loud.  The noise level in the office environment is usually moderate. While performing the duties of this job required in the shop, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts, heavy equipment, risk of electrical shock (high voltage), and fumes or airborne particles. Occasionally, working outdoors, in mechanical/equipment rooms, in extreme weather conditions, and in areas with vibration is possible. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions and high, precarious places.
