This role in summary

Set up and operate Minster heavy stamping presses that run parts through progressive dies. Load steel coils with use of a crane, change dies, and troubleshoot die and machine problems as needed.
Observe operation of equipment, perform quality checks as required, maintain safety equipment and guarding, and maintain housekeeping in area.
Hearing protection is mandatory. Operators are required to wear gloves.
This is a Safety Sensitive position. Employees in this classification may be randomly screened under the InSinkErator Substance Abuse policy.

Your responsibilities will include

Set up and operate Minster heavy stamping presses and support equipment. Load steel coils with use of a crane.
Change dies. Troubleshoot die, tooling, and machine problems as needed.
Perform 1st piece and other quality checks according to operation instructions.
Maintain safety equipment and guarding.
Complete all required paperwork, quality records, documents, etc.
Comply with all safety and work rules and regulations. Maintain departmental housekeeping standards, and clean/restock area at end of shift.

Minimum requirements

Previous Punch Press operation skills and/or setup experience is required. Must complete or have completed 1st piece inspection training.

Preferred skills and experiences

Ability to read and use precision measuring devices, gages, and die programming system equipment.
Ability to read and understand work orders, OICs, and other job related material.
Ability to work with minimum supervision, make job related decisions, and interact effectively with others.

Additional information

Must lift scrap conveyors off of cart from heights of 2 – 5 feet, and place under die on bed of press.
Process is reversed when removing the setup.
