Axle is seeking a ServiceNow Developer to join our Platform team at the National Institutes of Health (NIH) supporting the National Center for Advancing Translational Sciences (NCATS) located in Rockville, MD.

This role will be responsible for the configuration of our ServiceNow platform to ensure it meets the needs of our users. We support a broad range of clients, so the ideal candidate would be someone who can develop solutions that make navigation easy to use and provide procedures that seamlessly integrate with our entire IT infrastructure. 

 

Responsibilities 

Collaborate with the project manager to establish timelines, specifications, and budget, Determine problem areas within the current framework and recommend solutions, Develop processes with ServiceNow that improve user access and navigation, Implement and monitor changes to ensure a smooth transition, Conduct staff training on new procedures, Provide regular updates on project status to stakeholders, Troubleshoot issues and perform bug fixes for clients and end-users. Experience implementing systems using the Agile/Scrum methodology. 

 

Administration skills: 

Experience administering a ServiceNow instance including the delegation of groups, workflows, business rules, UI pages, UI actions, UI policies, ACLs, catalog items and updates of all other existing solutions requiring revisions, Experience developing on the ServiceNow platform including the creation and/or customization of the core applications such as Incident, Problem, Change, Service Request, Service Catalog, Work with the team to create systems documentation to support engineering efforts and established procedures, The developer contributes to the structuring and implementation of solutions and takes overall ownership for the quality of the technical requirements delivered to the customer on the ServiceNow platform. 

 

Discovery & Service Mapping: 

Must have a minimum of 3 years ServiceNow Discovery and Service Mapping experience, preferably within a heavily containerized application environment using Docker and/or Kubernetes, Experience working with Application owners to understand the Application Topology and Relational requirements to fulfill Service Mapping requirements, Serve as a subject matter expert for the CMDB, Business Applications, Service Mapping, and Event Management Layer, Proactively identify ServiceNow technical deficiencies and recommend solutions,

 

PPM 

Experience developing and customizing core ITBM applications such as Ideation, Demand, PPM, Resource Management, Timecard Management, Agile, Proven progressive project management experience working independently as well as in a team with the ability to meet aggressive deadlines, 

 

SAM 

Supporting the implementation of a Software Asset Management (SAM) solution while collaborating and liaising with teams in multiple areas to affect the adoption of SAM lifecycle processes, Supporting strategies and external relationships for handling processes relating to software asset “end of life” and software licensing reconciliation, Collecting information for budgeting, software compliance and inventory, contract summaries, and cost comparisons, Coordinating inventory, reconciliation and/or inventory spot check programs to ensure data integrity and process quality. 

 

Qualifications 

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, computer information systems, or a similar field, 5+ years of working with ServiceNow, including configuring an ITSM service catalog, ServiceNow Administrator Fundamentals certification is a plus, Excellent communication and organizational skills, Sound judgment, positive attitude, and creative outlook required. NIH experience preferred. Sound judgment, positive attitude, and creative outlook required.NIH experience preferred
