Compensation range: $22.00 - $24.34/Hourly

Location: Woodland, CA

Hours: Day shift, Monday - Friday 


The Service Technician 1 repairs and services client owned furniture and installs system and case good furniture as directed by sales order.

 

Responsibilities:

·    Services and or repairs client owned furniture to ensure mechanical workability and safety

·    Troubleshoots, repairs and identifies defects

·    Identifies, researches and orders necessary parts for repair

·    Communicates with internal and external customers regarding route scheduling and repair information

·    Completes warranty authorization paperwork (DSR) for warranty reimbursement

·    Delivers and installs system and case good furniture as directed

 

Qualifications:

 

Education/Experience

High School diploma or general education degree (GED); Three years + related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Advanced knowledge of Steelcase product lines & installation.

 

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

Working knowledge of major furniture manufacturer’s productsAbility to use hand and power tools listed under Required ToolsMust have a current, valid California Driver’s License and insuranceAbility to prioritize and work in a fast paced, high volume environmentAbility to provide excellent customer service to clientsMust have mechanical skills and ability to troubleshoot mechanical issuesRequires strong organizational skills and attention to detail and safetyMust have good verbal and written communication skillsKnowledge & experience of wall mount applications (white boards, overheads, wall starts)Knowledge & experience of power pole installationKnowledge & experience to perform in field straight work surface cuts & round grommet cutsAbility to read and interpret furniture installation drawings and blueprints Ability to work independently with little to no supervisionAbility to install floor and wall anchors to specificationDedication and commitment to promote diversity, multiculturalism and inclusion in all work activitiesCollaborate in diverse teams to foster productive outcomes

Required Tools

18V Cordless drill, charger & 2 batteries, apex/magnetic bit holder, bits (P2, P3, R2, R3) & nut drivers, drill bits for wood & metal, socket adapters, rachet set, wonder bar, torpedo level, dead blow (non-marking), (3) standard & (3) Philip screw drivers, pliers, channel locks, needle nose, tape measure, open wrench set, 3 light electrical tester, utility knife, allen wrench set (standard & metric), vise grips, tool bag, Awl, Stud finder, hack saw w/ extra blades, 2” putty knife, tin/aviation snips, (2) 12” bar clamps, 4’ level, ½” Auger/spade bit, sheet rock knife.

 

*All Drivers are subject to Random and Post-Accident Controlled Substance and Alcohol Testing. 

 

Physical Requirements

Seeing, color and depth perception, hearing/listening, clear speech, touching, ability to move distances within and between warehouses/offices, ability to mount and dismount forklift/truck, pushing/pulling, driving, lifting up to 100 pounds and carrying up to 70 pounds. Must be able to climb up into and down from delivery trucks and walk up and down ramps or stairs where required.Any employee who operates a company owned vehicle is subject to Random and Post-Accident Controlled Substance and Alcohol Testing.

Work Environment

Regularly works with others either face-to-face or verbally; works inside or outside and around mechanical equipment and moving objects. Usually work is performed at client location. May be required to work different shifts and work hours; may work alone or with a team; in moderate heat or cold, around electrical equipment, fumes/odors and/or dirt/dust. Generally works around loud noises such as, trucks, forklifts, and power hand tools.
