Service Systems Specialist III

This position is responsible for assisting in the operation of department. An individual in this position will be expected to perform additional job-related responsibilities and duties throughout the facility as assigned and or as necessary. Employees at this designation perform routine and complex technical duties in preventative maintenance, troubleshooting and repairing of components within building automation field cabinets, sensors, and related controls. They may work under the supervision of a higher-level building automation technician and are expected to maintain all responsibilities and attributes included in lower-level technician job descriptions. Employees at this level have at least 5 yrs. of field experience.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: An individual must be able to successfully perform the essential functions of this position with or without a reasonable accommodation.
+ Responsible for the troubleshooting and repair of building automation system field cabinets and all periphery devices.
+ Attend all training opportunities provided, retain, and apply information learned to enhance capabilities and production in the field.
+ Responsible for safely performing Preventative Maintenance tasks per department standards and assisting lower-level technicians to maintain these standards
+ Responsible for the diagnosis and repair of end devices, module configuration, and troubleshooting of network related issues.
+ Understands various protocols that may be integrated into the building automation system.
+ Able to make complex program and graphic changes to meet specification, sequence and/or customers request.
+ Understanding of scopes of work, ability to read and interpret project specifications.
+ Communicate technical issues to management, project managers and/or more senior level technicians.
+ Generate and maintain system backups and perform warranty related service calls.
+ Reports to work on time and ready to perform assigned tasks.
+ Maintains company tools, test equipment and material.
+ Perform necessary database tasks such as clippings, troubleshooting, exporting of files, and upgrading company’s building automation software suite, add-on’s, and offerings.
+ High level of understanding of the company’s building automation software suite, add-on’s, and offerings.
+ Creates thorough daily service reports and submit to Service manager weekly.
+ Sets a good example for lower-level technicians.
+ Looks for opportunities to keep the project moving forward.
+ Communicate with jobsite personnel to complete objectives.
+ Take part in solutions-based discussions with owners and project stakeholders both inside and outside the company.
+ Work closely with Service Contract customers making system improvement recommendations resulting in billable work.
+ Manage time wisely, provide support and be Primary technician on more complex service Contracts.
+ Support a performance-based culture, both team and individual, to assure continuous improvement and alignment with enterprise vision, mission, and objectives.
+ Ensure that all quality and safety standards, specifications and policies are met, drive continuous improvements, and collaborate with the team to drive efficiencies.
+ Support a culture based on open/honest dialogue and involvement with all team members that demonstrates the value of their input and engagement in improving performance.
+ Support a culture of high performance and accountability in employee and site safety as well as other aspects of the business.
Requirements
Required 5 years journeyman level experience and certification in one or more of the building trades; High school diploma or GED; supplemented by vocation/technical training in general construction (carpentry), plumbing, wiring, HVAC, etc.
+ 3-5 relevant work experience in the field or relate area that provides the requisite knowledge, skills and abilities for the job.
+ Self-starter attitude that is inquisitive, intuitive and has a willingness to learn and grow.
+ Ability to document daily tasks, plan and prepare for tasks assigned.
+ Familiarity with the Automated Logic hardware product line and network architecture is required.
+ Commitment to “open door” and comfort with production floor presence and contact with all field employees.
+ Excellent written and verbal communication, interpersonal skills; high quality document and report preparation.
+ Experience working in an entrepreneurial environment requiring strong multi-tasking abilities.
+ High ethical standards, strong values, integrity, drive to deliver results, pride in personal and team performance, decision quality, building effective teams, and action orientation are fundamental imperatives.
Pay Rate: $38-$45/hr. DOE.
