This is an exciting opportunity in Indianapolis for a Service Engineer Internship. Learn more about this role and how you can begin driving your career forward!

Service Engineering provides assistance to the Allison service network, fleets, and other organizations, ultimately supporting customer vehicle uptime and the Allison Promise.  Key learning and development areas include failure analysis, technical document construction, basic product design, transmission integration, and exposure to embedded control systems.  Students will work closely with their assigned supervisor and complete a specific project during the assignment.  Students will be required to commit to a minimum of 10-weeks per assignment.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Exposure to Allison’s products and organization through support of cross-functional teams and initiativesSupport investigation and analysis of failed transmissions and/or parts, with a focus on vehicle up-time and the Allison customer experienceParticipate in development of investigative plans for emerging or major issuesSupport preparation of technical documents to inform service network of product issues, product updates, and releasesSupport the development of specialized training and tools, as-neededSupport the Allison Technical Assistance Center

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS

College undergraduate or graduate status with 2-3 years at an accredited college or university, pursing a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Computer Engineering, Automotive, or related fieldPreferred 3.0 GPA in major

SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

Basic technical skillsStrong desire to learn and initiative to participate in a collaborative environmentBasic mechanical aptitudeStrong analytical skillsProficient with MS Office
