Position Description
Under general supervision, provide complex technical support functions related to the installation, customization, testing, and administration of the District's enterprise systems and infrastructure including Windows Domain and Active Directory environments, physical and virtual servers, storage, databases, cloud environments, email, software update and deployment, and associated systems, services, and applications; assists with data center administration, performance monitoring, and responding to service requests to resolve platform and service disruptions; implements and supports enterprise administrative systems infrastructure throughout the District.
Responsibilities
• Assists in planning, designing, and implementing the District's enterprise systems and infrastructure which support the District's services, applications, and administrative systems.
• Installs, configures, administers, and troubleshoots enterprise systems and infrastructure, including Windows Domain, Active Directory, Microsoft Entra ID (Azure Directory Services), Microsoft Intune, Microsoft Office 365, Microsoft SharePoint, identity and access management (IAM); physical and virtual servers and infrastructure, cloud-based infrastructure, storage systems (SANs), backups, power systems; cabling systems and related tools, equipment, and services; based on set priorities, designs, and standards.
• Manage, maintain, upgrade, assess and monitor various servers and the associated databases and operating systems that support the District's production network; e.g. E-mail, printing, document imaging, energy management, institutional research, and others.
• Monitor and analyze system performance utilizing established test plans, baselines, and a variety of network tools to devise and implement solutions when problems occur.
• Assist in establishing capacity and capability plans and strategies for the District's enterprise systems, data centers, cloud environments, hosted solutions, and related systems and infrastructure.
• Interface with service providers and vendors for troubleshooting and resolving problems.
• Provide systems planning and technical support for District installations of network equipment, servers, databases, software and operating systems.
• Provide technical systems and infrastructure support for district's information systems at main campus and all remote locations.
• Identify and initiate resolutions to client problems and concerns associated with systems hardware and software to the client's satisfaction; includes customization based on District requirements and District standards and guidelines.
• Analyze, recommend, and develop training with associated documentation to insure best utilization of equipment, software, and tools.
• Provide input to management for systems design and procurement of servers, equipment, software, licenses and supplies.
• Maintain network infrastructure and systems inventory, provide upgrades, and ensure appropriate security levels are maintained.
• Uphold District policy guidelines as well as recommends new and improved guidelines to insure compatibility and better service to enterprise users of personal computers and associated software.
• Collaborates with network, systems, security, and other information technology coworkers and peers on the development and implementation of approaches, processes, procedures and standards that promote responsiveness, efficiency, and simplification of infrastructure.
• Composes and maintains up-to-date documentation on systems infrastructure and services including diagrams for sites and projects.
• Keep current on emerging/new technologies and industry standards, and maintain current knowledge and expertise.
• Interacts with all levels of the user community to discuss and resolve systems related issues.
• Fulfills departmental requirements in terms of providing work coverage and administrative notification during periods of personnel illness, vacation, or education.
• Performs related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
• An Associate's Degree and education, training, and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
• Minimum of three (3) years of enterprise systems infrastructure, operating system, and software installation, administration, maintenance, support, and management experience.
• Demonstrated experience with enterprise system and data center infrastructure design, engineering, and administration.
• Demonstrated experience administering modern enterprise data center systems and infrastructure technologies such as: Physical Servers, Virtual Infrastructure (hypervisors, ESXi, VMware), Storage systems, Backup systems, Databases (SQL), Cloud Infrastructure, SaaS, IaaS, PaaS, XaaS, Data center UPS systems, PDUs, rack management, KVM, DNS, PKI, SSL/TLS, HTTP/HTTPS, and others.
• Demonstrated ability to install, administer, and support enterprise systems, platforms, protocols, and technologies such as: Operating Systems, Servers, PCs, Group Policy, Active Directory Sites and Services, Microsoft Entra ID (Azure Active Directory), Microsoft Intune (SCCM/MECM), WSUS, Office 365, SharePoint, PowerShell, Virtual Machines (VMs), and related systems and technologies.
• Knowledge of cable plant design and management including fiber and ethernet with the demonstrated ability to run, patch, terminate, create cable, and implement rack and cable management best practices.
• Knowledge of project management principles and practices.
• Demonstrated ability to provide training, mentoring, and coaching of professional and technical staff on matters related to systems administration and operation.
• Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective and cooperative working relationships with a diverse pool of administrators, technology staff, users, vendors, and team members; actively contribute to a culture of constructive collaboration and innovation with colleagues; effectively communicate, both orally and in writing; maintain high levels of customer service and satisfaction.
• Demonstrated evidence of sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, gender identity, sexual orientation, and ethnic backgrounds in a community college environment.

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS
• Two years of Information Technology experience in a community college environment.
• Industry certifications such as Microsoft Certified in Windows Server, Azure, Microsoft 365, and others.
• One year experience administrating SharePoint and Office 365 Applications such as Outlook email, OneDrive, and Teams.
• One year experience administrating hybrid and cloud environments in Azure, GCP, AWS, and/or others.
• One year experience with SQL administration
• One year experience with Unix/Linux administration.
Additional Information
SPECIAL CONDITIONS
Working hours: Monday - Friday, 7:30am - 4:30pm. Hours may vary according to the assignment. This position is overtime exempt and may necessitate working varying schedules including evenings and weekends.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
This is a full-time, 12-month, classified bargaining unit position, Range 40 of the CSEA Salary Schedule. Starting date: as soon as possible. Range 40 of the CSEA Salary Schedule, with a starting salary of Step A, $8,660. Excellent benefit package.
