Reference PE002879 Location Eastern Cape, Port Elizabeth Salary Interval Monthly Package None-negotiable Description Our client in the IT industry based in Port Elizabeth is looking to employ a Server Administrator.
Requirements:
1 - 3 years’ experience in Windows Server Management and Linux System Management. Up to 3 years of experience in a technical role with increasing responsibility. Experience in working in the Software Development industry. Knowledge of C# & C+ Languages. Ability to write scripts. Knowledge of server hardware. Experience in backups. Experience with SQL databases. Hybrid – Required to be office based, 3 days a week. Responsibilities:
Windows Server Management. Linux System Management. DNS Management. Support daily operations and monitor multiple databases, file permissions, and other systems according to standard operating procedures for storage and backup architectures. Administrate infrastructure including firewalls, databases, security, and networks. Assist with database management and applications/websites and publishes. Participate in projects to ensure a smooth transition from development to live environments. Perform SQL server management and administration. Manage the physical environment of the server racks including cable management, documentation, labeling, and configuration of switching for console and remote access. Provide technical support for all hardware and software. Manage the configuration and operation of Operating Systems. Maintain and administer computer networks and related computing environments including computer hardware, systems software, application software, and all configurations. Manage, deploy, and configure hardware upgrades, software updates, security patches, and other necessary items as needed. Manage user accounts, permissions, access rights, and storage allocations following best practices. Production of technical documentation to agreed quality standards. Troubleshoot network, hardware, and software issues. Develop required reports in response to management needs. Document, create, and maintain internal procedures. Recommend improvements to existing processes, procedures, policies, and systems. Configure, test, and monitor backups to ensure continuity and a minimum of data loss is suffered in the event of failure.
