Job Title: Banquet Server/Set up/Cashier
FLSA Status: Part time $16 per hour
Department: Food & Beverage
Reports to: Banquet Manager
Jekyll Island Convention Center, an ASM Global managed facility, has an immediate opening for part-time banquet servers.
Position Summary:
This position provides a high quality catering service for banquets.
Qualifications:
+ Must be 18 years of age or older
+ Must be able to work unsupervised
+ Must have attention to detail
+ Must have good oral communication skills
+ Must have strong customer service skills
+ Must be able to adapt to changes in the work environment, managing competing demands, frequent changes, delays or unexpected events
+ Must have strong interpersonal skills
+ Must be results driven, follow direction and ask questions for clarification if needed
+ Must be able to work flexible hours.
Major Responsibilities:
+ Assist with collecting all banquet equipment to include flatware, china, glassware, and serving pieces needed for each event
+ Prepares garnishes, beverages, condiments, and breads
+ Clean and fill salt and pepper containers, sugar dishes, creamers, etc
+ Assist with preparation and set-up of event room when necessary
+ Prepare tables with place settings as instructed
+ Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks consistent with the standard drink recipes
+ Maintains bottles and glasses in an attractive and functional manner to support efficient drink preparation and promotion of beverages
+ Establish and maintain positive client relationships
+ Breakdown tables and banquet equipment after each event
+ Clean and return serving pieces to proper storage area
+ Performs cash handling and/or cashiering functions based on demand
+ Perform other duties as assigned
Physical Demands:
+ Daily lifting and carrying up to 40 lbs. Up to 10 minutes at a time.
+ Constant reaching, standing, walking and stooping
+ Performing work through repetitive eye/hand coordination
+ Must be able to balance and have good manual dexterity
+ Must be able to adapt to changes in the work environment, managing competing demands, frequent changes, delays or unexpected events
+ Must be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time
