🕒 Schedule: Monday - Friday, 7:30 am – 1:30 pm (30 hours per week July – August)

✅ Pre-Service Training: May 10, 2025 (Forest Hills Community Center, Forest Hills, NY)
✅ National Training: June 3, 2025 - June 8, 2025 (Knoxville, TN – travel expenses covered by QCH)
✅ Post-Service Setup: Three days during the week of June 23, 2025 (Queens, NY)
✅ Summer Camp Dates: July 2, 2025 – August 15, 2025

🎓 Position Overview
We are seeking Servant Leader Interns (SLIs) with a passion for youth development to join our Summer/After School Programs. SLIs will serve as classroom leaders, facilitating engaging morning literacy sessions and dynamic afternoon activities. Ideal candidates are responsible, energetic, quick-thinking, and strong role models who can effectively work with small and large groups of children.
🎭 We are looking for SLIs with experience in:
📖 Literacy | ⚽ Sports | 💃 Dance | 🎨 Visual Arts | 📚 Academics | 🎼 Music | 🎭 Theater | 🥋 Karate | 🎤 Leadership Development | 🔬 STEM Instruction
📝 Primary Responsibilities
✔️ Lead and engage a group of up to 10 scholars (ages 6-11) during a 7-week summer program.
✔️ Develop and implement age-appropriate lesson plans that promote high student engagement.
✔️ Deliver a literacy-based curriculum and lead enrichment activities.
✔️ Collaborate with staff on special projects and initiatives.
✔️ Maintain communication with supervisors regarding classroom updates and behavioral concerns.
✔️ Serve as a positive role model for students, families, and staff.
✔️ Ensure classroom spaces are well-maintained and secure.
✔️ Attend weekly staff meetings and complete professional development requirements.
✔️ Maintain accurate attendance records and student progress reports.
✔️ Support the creation of a structured, inclusive learning environment.
✔️ Other duties as assigned by program leadership.
📌 Qualifications
✅ College enrollment (minimum 2 years) in Education, Human Development, Sociology, Human Services, or a related field.
✅ Experience working with youth in after-school or camp settings.
✅ Strong skills in facilitation, conflict resolution, and group management.
✅ Experience leading youth in leadership development, community service, or civic engagement (preferred).
✅ Passion for designing and delivering hands-on, project-based learning experiences.
✅ Professionalism, teamwork, and a strong work ethic.
✅ Excellent time management, organization, and self-motivation.
✅ Strong verbal and written communication skills.
✅ Basic computer proficiency.
✅ Ability to pass all required background checks (NYS DOH Fingerprinting Screening, NYS Clearance Review, 3 Reference Checks, physical exam with updated TB test).
