Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking a Principal (T-03)/ Sr Principal Systems Engineer (T04) for Command & Launch team. This position can be located in the following locations: Roy, UT, Huntsville, AL, Colorado Springs, CO, or Bellevue, NE and supports the Sentinel program.

What You’ll Get To Do:

As a C&L SE&I IFC Principal / Sr Principal Systems Engineer you will be responsible for supporting C&L (Command & Launch) Systems Engineering activities associated with capability buildup for the Sentinel Flight Test Campaign. You will support a team of engineers to define, develop, decompose, analyze, verify, and validate architecture and requirements for Command and Launch SE&I. In this role, you will be supporting program leadership and the customer to define and maintain the C&L IFC technical baseline. Ultimately, you will support the program through SE artifact maturity and milestones.

Candidates should be highly motivated engineers who can work both independently and in team environments. The selected candidate will get to use MBSE principles to model various processes, tools, and activities that span the Sentinel program.
 

The successful candidate must be proficient in Cameo and DOORs and have an in-depth understanding of MBSE and be willing to support less experienced MBSE teammates through knowledge sharing and internal peer review of work products.

Responsibilities includes but not limited to:

Perform requirements analysis, review and document source data for requirements, generate requirements verification, and work with suppliers and internal teams to ensure products designed meet requirementsInterface with subject matter experts, analysts, architects, designers, system engineers and specialty engineers to capture Sentinel Node structure and behavior across UPDM/UAF/SysML/UML MBSE frameworksSupport requirement decomposition, derivation, and traceabilitySupport development of MBSE strategy and MBSE implementationCoordinate with sub-contracted product teams to drive compliance to the SOW and established program model governanceHelp develop technical content for presentations and present to internal and external stakeholdersApply the principles of engineering to design components and systems using applicable standards and specificationsMaintain design documentation and follow configuration management requirements

Basic Qualifications:

This requisition may be filled at either the Principal Engineer Systems level (T03) or Sr Principal Engineer Systems level (T04).

Principal Systems Engineer: Bachelor's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university and 5 years of experience with Bachelor's degree, 3 years of experience with Master's degree, or PhD with 1 year of experience

Sr Principal Systems Engineer: Bachelor's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university and 8 Years of experience; 6 Years with Masters; 4 Years with PhD (with 2 years of Systems Engineering experience)

Required for Both Levels:

Must be a US Citizen with an active DoD Secret Clearance, at time of application, current and within scope, with an investigation date within the last 6 yearsMust have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) approval within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business needMinimum 3-5 years of experience applying Model-Based Systems Engineering conceptsMinimum 3-4 years’ experience using existing program MBSE tools (Cameo/DOORS)Minimum 3-4 years’ experience modeling system behavior using Systems Modeling Language (SysML) or equivalent

This position’s standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.

Salary Range: $95,300.00 - $142,900.00Salary Range 2: $118,600.00 - $178,000.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
