The successful candidate will join the Airbus Protect Industrial Innovation Team within the Sustainability Business Unit. We support our clients’ resilience and readiness for the future through our knowledge of industrial processes, products and infrastructure, fostering:

Task description

Work for R&T projects (ZEROe, Future Aircraft) in co-development with the following stakeholders: Engineering, Optical specialist, Procurement, Supply chain, Manufacturing shops and External partners

Support the delivery (in TCQ - Time / Cost / Quality) of the industrial dossier delivery along the TRL (TRL3 to 6) and MRL (Manufacturing Readiness Level) processes

Assess & Influence design solutions by using 'Design to Cost' and 'Design to Manufacture' approaches

Ensure the development / qualification of mature and competitive electrical/optical components (including manufacturing/assembly processes) and associated tooling within an End to End approach

Contribute to defining the products strategies within PFTs (Product Family Team, multi-functional team with Procurement, Quality supply chain and Engineering)

Define, elaborate, perform the assembly and test of the functional demonstrator for the new ESI architecture

Perform trades between design/technical solutions, and represent the industrial voice during the different assessments

Support of know-how transfer

Creation of required documentation and presentations of work results

Independent creation of the technical parts of extensive offers and company presentations

Taking on functional and/or project-related tasks in projects (e.g. technical project planning, topic responsibility

Occasional lectures, publications, presentations

Required qualification

The job requires knowledge and skills that are normally acquired through a relevant, completed degree with a standard period of study of up to 4 years in the area of ​​mechanical or aerospace engineering or or equivalent and related, extended, subject-specific additional qualifications, or through a relevant, completed degree with a standard period of study of more than 4 years and related, subject-specific additional qualifications. The overall knowledge and experience required may have been acquired in other ways.

Skills and competences

Advanced knowledge and experience in the above-mentioned areas of responsibility

Advanced knowledge and experience in project management in R&T /Pre-program context

Experience in Manufacturing Engineering environment will be highly appreciate

Advanced knowledge and experience in electrical/optical technologies, Processes & Methods

Knowledge and Experience in engineering electrical/optical technology development

High degree of autonomy, proactivity and continuous improvement

Ability to work in uncertain environment

3D design will be appreciated (CATIA / 3DEXPERIENCE)

Knowledge and experience in Airbus electrical toolset

Languages: Fluent German and English spoken and written. French desirable
