Senior Wireperson 2nd Shift

A Senior Wireperson is responsible for assembling, installing, and maintaining electrical systems and components. They work with various types of wiring, cables, and connectors to ensure proper functioning of electrical equipment and systems. Wirepersons may read and interpret electrical schematics and blueprints, and they often work closely with electricians and other technicians to complete projects. They must adhere to safety regulations and follow industry standards to ensure the integrity and reliability of electrical systems.

Essential Responsibilities

•             Understand Engineering Chane orders and apply changes to the job

•             Advanced knowledge of single and three-line drawings, including symbols

•             Perform RCA on engineering changes and correct discrepancies

•             Install transformer cables and install CTs

•             Lead a small team of employees to complete a specific task assigned as assigned by lead wireperson and/or supervisor

•             Layout and run phase wire (LVSWR)

•             Assist training employees

•             Complete complex engineering changes

•             Install Mimic Bus

•             Make Coaxial cable

•             Perform in process inspections

•             Create nameplates

•             Identify and track shortages

•             Assist in processing ship loose (identify, collect and provide information to QA)

•             Install communication cables, CAT 5 and CAT 6 cables, fiber optic and BriteSpot

•             Terminate and run wire for MCC, SWGR, and harnesses according to wire diagram.

•             Identify part discrepancies and write HFDs for corrections

•             Promote a safety culture as well as attend all safety meetings.

•             Ensure that work areas remain clean and well organized.

Minimum Qualifications

•             Minimum education level of a High School Diploma or General Education Equivalent Diploma is preferred.

•             Minimum of 2-4 years of experience in manufacturing

•             Knowledge of system software (i.e. Oracle, MES, True View) to look up parts and drawings

•             Lift up to 50lbs using proper lifting techniques.

Working & Environmental Conditions

 

Working Conditions

 

Safety sensitive position in a temperature-controlled manufacturing or industrial environment with occasional outside activities.

Required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times (i.e., hard hats, safety glasses, hearing protection, safety harnesses as required) and respirators when required.

Must be able to work from all type of ladders (step ladders, "A" frame ladders and all size extension ladders) and scaffolding.

Working at heights usually no higher than 30 feet in the air on or using proper lift equipment.

 

Physical Requirements

 

Able to maintain body equilibrium and agility to prevent falling when walking, standing, crouching, ascending or descending stairs.

Bending the body at the waist, the legs at the knees, and extending arms and hands in any direction in a repetitive manner continuously.

Continuous standing, walking 50–300-foot distances for long periods of time with only occasional sitting.

Must be able to climb stairs frequently throughout the shift.

Able to frequently look over shoulders, work with both arms above shoulders and use both arms at full length frequently.

Using upper extremities to apply or exert a force continuously up to 50lbs.

Frequent use of hand tools such as tin snips, hammer, and power tools (some vibrating), for long periods of time.
