Senior Windows Server Administrator
Make a difference. As a Senior Windows Server Administrator, you will maintain highly technical inter-network of computing systems, ensure high level of systems performance and availability, and execute system and subsystem startups, shutdowns, backups, and dumps. You will investigate and respond to system-generated alerts, and identify and resolve service-level objective compliance problems. Candidates should possess in-depth technical knowledge and hands-on experience with PowerShell, Active Directory Domain Services, and the Windows Server Operating System. The individual’s primary responsibilities will consist of, but will not be limited to, general server management in various cloud environments using automation tools. Candidates will research, evaluate, design, implement, and maintain system and product solutions, applying knowledge of engineering and security principles. Individuals will also provide technical direction and engineering support for projects and infrastructure. **Responsibilities:** + Support complex environments running various 3rd party applications + Evaluate Windows systems for stability and scalability to support current and future needs of customers + Installing, patching, and upgrading systems on a cadence using automation tools and cloud-native processes + Investigate and record problem symptoms and status information in a timely fashion to communicate internally within IT as well as externally with other teams through problem resolution + Monitoring, backup, and restoration procedures for Windows systems and applications using cloud best practices + Document new system components or modifications to existing components + Ensure the security and integrity of system and product solutions + Participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation for emergency technical support and planned maintenance activities **What you bring to the table:** + Minimum 10 years of experience in System Administration; at least 5 years of experience in system design and implementation + 4 year degree in Computer Science or related field required; advanced degree preferred + Technical Certification preferred **Proficient in:** + Experience managing Windows Server systems with PowerShell and automation + Strong communication skills + Ability to write clear, complete, and fluent emails, as well as internal documentation + Experience using Terraform to deploy and manage Windows Servers + One or more professional level Windows certifications is a plus + Real-world, hands on experience with Azure IaaS **Work shift and hours:** + Full-time, hourly, non-exempt + Monday - Friday remote + 8 hour shift worked between the hours of 6a-6p + **_Will be on call for any emergency support_** + Paid time-off, including 3+ weeks of vacation, sick time, and volunteer time. **Compensation Details:** + The expected pay rate for this position is starting at $100,000 annually depending on experience. **Why should you join Graybar?** At Graybar, our employees are the heart and soul of our company.
