The Ipsos Client Organization (CO) seeks to bring the best of Ipsos’ solutions to clients, and to be the ‘voice of the client’ inside Ipsos. The mission of the CO is to deliver greater value for our clients and profitable growth for Ipsos. The CO is comprised of senior executives from across the industry who are focused on building long-term client relationships by understanding their business context and priorities, and then identifying and penetrating the relevant buying points for Ipsos’ broad portfolio of services that address these needs.
What makes this role important at Ipsos?
The Senior Client Officer (SCO) is an integral part of Ipsos’ US Client Organization. This role will be focused on high growth, high value technology clients, working at the cutting edge of the intersection of Tech and Media. The SCO will also devote time to growing emerging relationships and developing new and existing buying points. The SCO will focus their time and attention on both strategic and operational issues, primarily by:
Understanding the clients’ strategy and challenges Showing deep sectoral knowledge, interest and enthusiasm in Tech & Media Building short-term and long-term strategic account plans for growth Identifying and targeting those client opportunities with the strongest ROI Building and nurturing relationships with senior client stakeholders (Marketing, Product, UX, Brand, Ad Sales, Policy, Procurement, etc.) Overseeing quality of client facing content and developing thought leadership Retaining and expanding existing programs Penetrating new buying points Expanding the number of Ipsos services sold to clients Crafting positioning, messaging, hooks, and differentiation for Ipsos, during large pitches as well as brand-building to the industry Nurture a community of researchers at Ipsos excited to play an integral role in growing the account Staying current on industry and competitive trends Communicating Ipsos’ value proposition to clients Driving internal collaboration across key Ipsos stakeholders and marketsThe SCO position has high visibility within the Ipsos US organization, reporting to the EVP of Tech, Media, and Telecommunications. The SCO will interact with other key Ipsos senior stakeholders, including Service Line Presidents and Executive Vice Presidents, Global Chief Client Directors, and Service Line Project teams.

Builds a growth plan in collaboration with Ipsos Service Lines (divisions) through defining target revenue by client, identifying significant opportunities e.g. competitor programs and developing hooks to open conversations Works closely with the Ipsos Service Lines to develop plans to diversify the services we sell to current stakeholders, engage new stakeholders within current clients, and pursue opportunities with potential clients that we do not currently work with Ensures a ‘one Ipsos’ approach where multiple Service Lines target the same client/stakeholder; facilitate the integration of Ipsos services to answer clients’ business challenges Introduces the relevant Ipsos Service Lines to the client to maximize opportunities Aims to achieve a balance between developing new relationships for medium/long-term growth and delivering more immediate opportunities Tracks pre-proposal conversations and reports activity (pipeline)Adding Value:
Understand the sector, context, and strategic growth questions the client faces Builds a long-term vision for the client, identifying the client’s growth agenda, priorities, competitive landscape, and key stakeholders Identifies and promotes Ipsos’ value proposition to meet client needs Highlights the ROI Ipsos provides Recognizes how clients make decisions and how Ipsos can support them Develop new ideas, thought leadership, and innovative ways of answering clients’ business questions Connects the dots for clients; building on previous conversations/projects to deliver incremental value Mobilizes the wider Ipsos organization to support and innovate with clientsBuilding Long-term Partnerships:
Creates strong connections with clients to develop long-term relationships Develops and facilitates meaningful ongoing conversations around the client’s needs and business questions Moves our interactions past research exclusively, into a trusted advisory, throught partner capacity Maximizes positive sentiment and client satisfaction in partnership with Ipsos Service Lines Identifies areas where existing Ipsos work with clients can be optimized, evolved, or adapted to maximize client and Ipsos valueThis might be the job for you if you have:
Technology/Media Experience: Client and/or agency side, ideally with both a consumer and B2B perspective. Track Record of Driving Results: identify and target business opportunities that represent the greatest potential to achieve high results Business and Commercial Acumen: understand and leverage key financial metrics and KPIs, both within Ipsos as an insights provider, as well as with our clients as they grow Internal and External Stakeholder Management: engages and communicates with internal and external partners using the appropriate channel and in the appropriate timeframe Negotiation Skills: effectively balances Ipsos’ financial position/pricing relative to the client’s budget and overall business relationship Analytic Storytelling: communicate and translate technical/abstract concepts in a customer-friendly way Solution Selling: demonstrate the ability to match client needs and budget with Ipsos’ offers Advisory / Strategic Thinking and Insight: understand how clients make decisions and how we can help them to achieve their growth ambitions Account Planning: build and execute an operational plan to stay close to clients at the right intervals Influence and Relationship-building: work with clients and internal colleagues in a respectful and transparent manner; ability to collaborate in a matrixed environment Impactful communication and presentation skills: understands the audience and effectively conveys Ipsos’ solutions clearly and relative to the client’s prioritiesIf you don’t meet 100% of the requirements, we encourage all who feel they might be a fit for the opportunity to apply. In accordance with NY/CO/CA/WA law, the estimated base salary range for this role is $220,000 to $250,000. Your final base salary will be determined based on several non-discriminatory factors which may include but are not limited to location, work experience, skills, knowledge, education and/or certifications.
