Senior Vice President of Finance and Accounting

Pacifica Hotels is looking for a Senior Vice President of Accounting and Finance to join our team! The Senior Vice President of Accounting and Finance oversees the financial operations of a diverse portfolio, including hotels, commercial properties, corporate entities, partnerships, and food & beverage operations. This role is responsible for developing and executing financial strategies, ensuring compliance with industry standards, and driving operational excellence. By leading a high-performing finance team and collaborating with stakeholders, the SVP of Accounting and Finance will optimize financial performance, safeguard assets, and support the company’s growth and success.

ESSESNTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE JOB INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

Financial Leadership: Direct and administer all financial operations, including asset protection, financial reporting, systems management, budgeting, forecasting, and compliance with GAAP, SOX, and the Uniform System of Accounts for the Lodging Industry (USALI). Develop and implement financial strategies to drive profitability and operational excellence across the portfolio. Reporting and Analysis: Ensure timely and accurate preparation of monthly financial statements, forecasts, and cash flow reports. Conduct monthly P&L reviews with General Managers and Regional Managers, addressing discrepancies and identifying opportunities for improved profitability. Provide actionable insights and financial models to support decision-making at the property levels. Budgeting and Forecasting: Oversee the development of annual operating budgets and financial forecasts for all properties and business segments. Collaborate with property teams to align financial planning with operational objectives and identify opportunities for cost efficiencies. Treasury Management Maintain banking relationships to ensure favorable terms, access to financial services, and effective management of cash flow. Oversee the company’s cash position, ensuring adequate liquidity for operations, capital expenditures, and strategic initiatives. Develop short- and long-term cash forecasts to align with business objectives. Oversee the opening, closing, and maintenance of corporate bank accounts, ensuring proper documentation and compliance with internal policies. Oversee the setup and maintenance of payment systems for hotels and restaurants, including merchant accounts, point-of-sale (POS) systems, online payment processing, and integration with the company’s financial systems to ensure seamless and efficient transaction management. Compliance and Controls: Ensure compliance with all financial regulations, company policies, and internal controls. Oversee audits and establish controls to safeguard company assets. Collaboration and Operational Support: Work closely with operations teams to ensure financial processes and goals align with property-level and organizational objectives. Visit properties semi-annually or as needed to assess financial processes and provide guidance. Work closely with the asset management team on refinancing, acquisitions, and dispositions. Team Development: Recruit, train, and mentor accounting and finance staff, fostering professional growth and a high-performance culture. Provide supervision, professional development, and performance evaluations for team members.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field; CPA or MBA preferred. 10+ years of progressive finance leadership experience, preferably in multi-property hospitality environments. Expertise in financial planning, analysis, and compliance with GAAP and USALI. Proven ability to lead teams and manage financial operations for multi-state portfolios. Proficiency in financial systems, ERP platforms, and Microsoft Excel. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a collaborative leadership style.

 

Pay Range: $200,000-$225,000/year
