Position Overview
As a Senior Underwriter specializing in Accident & Health, you will focus on underwriting new and renewal policies for Business Travel Accident, Out of Country Medical, Basic and Voluntary AD&D, and Participant Accident products.
Key Responsibilities
Underwrite new business and renewals by developing and negotiating pricing, coverage, terms, and conditions. Maintain underwriting discipline by adhering to established authority, guidelines, and directives. Collaborate closely with home office underwriting, actuarial, product development, and legal teams. Contribute significantly to achieving the regional financial plan. Support the renewal retention plan by issuing timely renewal notices, working closely with brokers throughout the renewal lifecycle, and providing regular updates to the regional manager. Partner with the Business Development Manager, regional operations, and other lines of business to achieve new business goals. Build and maintain strong relationships with producers. Ensure that data and document repository systems are complete and accurate. Conduct monthly audits of underwriting practices. Train and mentor new hires and junior underwriters.Qualifications
Strong underwriting experience, particularly in Accident and Health products. Proven ability to build relationships and collaborate effectively with team members and external partners. Excellent negotiation and communication skills. Detail-oriented with strong analytical abilities. Qualifications
A four-year college degree.A minimum of two years of underwriting experience is preferred, ideally within the Accident and Health line of business.Strong analytical skills with experience in evaluating large and complex underwriting risks.Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.Self-motivated with a strong sense of responsibility for one’s actions and the quality of work produced.Demonstrated organizational and negotiation skills.Ability to thrive in a dynamic and challenging environment, managing multiple priorities often under tight deadlines.Willingness to travel within the region and to the home office as needed.Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word).We encourage all qualified individuals to apply, as we value diverse experiences and perspectives in our workplace.
