Join us as Senior Trademark Manager to take on key responsibilities within a world-class Legal Department.

AIG’s Intellectual Property Group is seeking a Senior Trademark Manager to manage AIG’s global portfolio of trademarks within the Global Legal, Compliance, Regulatory and Government Affairs (GLCR) department.  This role reports directly to the Chief Intellectual Property Counsel.

Make your mark in the Global Legal, Compliance and Regulatory team

AIG’s Global Legal, Compliance and Regulatory department is comprised of attorneys and other professionals providing high-quality advisory and transactional support with integrity and objectivity across all parts of the organization. The team ensures an operating environment that minimizes legal, regulatory and reputational risks and complies with all laws and regulations and AIG policies & procedures.

Responsibilities will include:

Conducting pre-screening trademark searches and analyzing full trademark searches in the U.S. and globallyDrafting analysis letters regarding risks and availability of mark(s) for use and registration based on outside counsel opinionsHandling all aspects of U.S. trademark prosecution and maintenance, including maintenance of files, preparation and electronic filing of applications, preparation and electronic filing of Office Action responses, documents relating to intent-to-use (e.g., statements of use and extension requests) and post-registration documents (e.g., Sections 8 & 15 Affidavits and renewals)Preparing assignments of trademark registrations and applications and electronically filing same with U.S. Patent and Trademark OfficeMaintaining global trademark docket database and managing deadlines with outside counselReviewing product designs, marketing materials and social media content as requestedAssisting with IP due diligence in M&A transactionsProviding support in connection with actual or threatened litigationAssisting with various projects, including developing IP guidelines, processes and proceduresCorresponding with outside counsel and internal stakeholders on various IP-related itemsWorking across the business units and corporate functions to educate employees about IP and building awareness of AIG’s licensing processes, requirements and key contactsCoordinating notarizations and legalizations with outside vendors

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree preferred5+ years of experience at a law firm or corporate law department as a paralegal/legal assistant handling high-level responsibilities on trademark matters, including global portfolio managementDetail-oriented self-starter and problem-solver with strong analytical, organizational, and case management skillsAbility to work independently and remain flexible in a multi-task environmentExcellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills Demonstrated ability to take ownership and personal responsibility for performing tasks and resolving issuesIn-depth knowledge of domestic and foreign trademark law, policies and processesProficiency with Microsoft Office products, particularly Excel, Word and PowerPoint

For positions based in NYC, the base salary range is $102,000 - $115,000. In addition, the position is eligible for a bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable incentive plan.
