One moment I am dealing with a new application for a housing development that has had its planning permission and the next I’m dealing with the legal officer on an agreement, or on site measuring to ensure all the roads and paths are formally adopted. It’s a great mix of office based technical work and real-world problem solving.
The best part is seeing a new road go from paper to adoption, knowing that we’ve made sure it’s safe, fit for purpose, accessible and something the Council can maintain for years to come. You feel like you’re genuinely contributing to the growth of the area, but doing it the right way”
