Senior Technical Infrastructure Program Manager , Supply Chain Operations
AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. In other words, we’re the people who keep the cloud running. We support all AWS data centers and all of the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that ensure our customers have continual access to the innovation they rely on. We work on the most challenging problems, with thousands of variables impacting the supply chain — and we’re looking for talented people who want to help.

You’ll join a diverse team of software, hardware, and network engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, operations managers, and other vital roles. You’ll collaborate with people across AWS to help us deliver the highest standards for safety and security while providing seemingly infinite capacity at the lowest possible cost for our customers. And you’ll experience an inclusive culture that welcomes bold ideas and empowers you to own them to completion.

In this role, you will be part of the team that ensures AWS' supply chain delivers the datacenter infrastructure to successfully launch new regions. This is a high-judgment role, where you will be the authoritative voice representing the AWS supply chain during engagements with public sector customers, and must be able to translate customer and regulatory requirements into actionable deliverables, determine what is a true requirement versus a nice-to-have, and understand how to find the balance between cybersecurity and business objectives.

The ideal candidate is an individual leader that can think and communicate strategically while also executing tactical actions. On one hand, you will directly interact with senior leaders and must be fluent in executive communication to gain support for new initiatives and obtain consensus with AWS customers. On the other hand, you will also be responsible for delivering on your initiatives, and must have both excellent interpersonal and writing skills to work across myriad teams in the supply chain, security, and legal organizations to deliver results in an ambiguous operating environment. It will be your responsibility to ensure the supply chain delivers on our security and risk management commitments to our customers, as well as make sure region build and operational teams are able to get the infrastructure hardware they need when they need it.

Key job responsibilities
• Driving consensus for acceptable levels for risks and best practices across the supply chain and influencing where no formal reporting structures exist
• Developing technical solutions to ensure datacenter infrastructure is delivered on-time, in-full to support new region launches
• Proactively working with other organizations to anticipate gaps between teams, processes, and system architectures to help AWS produce the best possible results for our customers
• Articulating in writing (actual papers, not slides) key issues and strategic initiatives for senior leadership
• Acting as a thought and business leader in the field of cybersecurity, supply chain risk management, and supply chain operations

Hold or be able to attain an Australian Government Security Vetting Agency clearance (see https://www.agsva.gov.au/applicants/eligibility-and-suitability)

A day in the life
Daily activities involve partnering with teams to understand the specific types and quantities of datacenter infrastructure needed and working to ensure their needs are met. This includes working with in-country organizations for required approvals, pre-positioning IT Hardware at worldwide manufacturing locations, ensuring on-time, in-full deliveries, and serving as an escalation point for supply chain risk management and supply chain security issues.

About the team
This position is part of the New Regions Enablement team, which is specifically focused on making sure new datacenters receive the racks, servers, and other infrastructure to launch on time. The larger organization has teams performing manufacturing, logistics, and reverse/recycling operations, and we work across those teams to coordinate successful on-time, in-full delivery of datacenter infrastructure.
