Senior Systems EngineersKBR’s Hemisphere program is seeking experienced Senior Systems Engineers to support the U.S. Space Force mission of delivering warfighter capability in a relevant timeline. Successful candidates will have extensive background and direct experience with integrating complex system of systems for large scale space acquisition programs. Deep understanding of the systems engineering lifecycle and associated milestones throughout requirements development, design, development, test, and transition to operational environments with all associated critical documentation for those looking to support the Space Systems Command (SSC) Space Domain Awareness and Combat Power (SDACP) and Battle Management, Command, Control and Communications (BMC3) portfolios. Positions are available in El Segundo, California, Colorado Springs, CO and Gilbert, AZ.
Hemisphere team members provide systems engineering development and integration expertise in support of enterprise systems that protect and defend the Nation's most valuable space assets. KBR Hemisphere team members serve as trusted advisors to the Government for architecture, integration, and full lifecycle systems engineering processes that enable key systems such as but not limited to satellite and sensor designs, ground segments supporting both ground and space-based assets, and critical command and control capabilities to meet warfighter needs.
Typical responsibilities include:
Provides Systems Engineering expertise across the entire lifecycle from concept development to operations (for either Space-based, Ground-based space systems and, or the Ground Systems/Command & Control services that operate those capabilities)Provides technical oversight of development efforts (i.e., design, development, manufacturing, assembly, integration, test, production and sustainment) whether they are traditional acquisition methods (e.g., waterfall, spiral, etc) or agile/prototypeDevelops operational concepts, requirements, and architectural designs; evolves system architectures, conducts and analyzes requirements flow down, proposes verification methodologies and mitigation approachesConducts model-based systems engineering plus modeling, simulation and analysis as neededConducts and maintains Configuration Management of the program technical baselineManages risk management processes and methods for identifying and adjudicating program risk; conducts analysis to identify program risk areas and recommends/implements risk reduction measuresQualifications
Required:
Bachelor’s degree in an engineering, mathematics, physics or equivalent technical discipline and twelve (12) or more years of systems engineering, and integration related or equivalent experience for a DoD acquisition programExperience with the Space Control mission area—especially offensive and defensive systemsExpertise in space control systems engineering processes and procedures, including but not limited to requirements development, configuration control, and Government Deficiency Review (DR) board establishment, execution, plus DR disposition and management for classified programsSkilled in identifying system and/or project challenges and identifying viable courses of action to mitigate those challengesDemonstrates ability to organize and conduct ACAT-like technical design reviews and auditsSelf-starter with exceptional communication skills (both written and verbal)Collaborative and works seamlessly with a multi-disciplined engineering teamAbility to develop, update, and coordinate ACAT-like program documentationActive TS SCI clearanceMust be amenable to be nominated for Special Access ProgramsDesired:
Master’s degree in an engineering, mathematics, physics or equivalent technical discipline and ten (10) or more years of systems engineering, and integration related or equivalent experience for a DoD acquisition programExperience working in an acquisition development environmentProfessional certification (e.g., Professional Engineer, INCOSE CSEP, ITEA CTEP, Agile PM/PO, etc)Target salary range for El Segundo
$150,000……………$175,000
Target salary range for Colorado Springs

The offered rate will be based on the selected candidate’s knowledge, skills, abilities and/or experience and in consideration of internal parity.
Additional Compensation:
KBR may offer bonuses, commissions, or other forms of compensation to certain job titles or levels, per internal policy or contractual designation. Additional compensation may be in the form of sign on bonus, relocation benefits, short term incentives, long term incentives, or discretionary payments for exceptional performance.
