The Opportunity:

KBR is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to join a Sustainment Team, supporting cutting-edge Electronic Warfare (EW) sensors, visual surveillance systems, and associated Information and Communications Technology (ICT) for the Australian Army.

This is a dynamic role that offers the opportunity to work on critical defence capabilities within a multidisciplinary team.

This is a full-time permanent position, based in Melbourne. Interstate applicants may be considered on a case-by-case basis.

This position will require an active AGSVA NV1 clearance on commencement and the successful candidate must be willing to upgrade to an NV2.

Key Responsibilities:

Conduct engineering investigations and safety analyses.Develop, review, and revise technical documentation such as Operator Manuals, Maintenance Procedures, and Test Instructions.Verify and validate technical data to ensure accuracy and compliance.Collaborate within a multidisciplinary team to define and refine design requirements in the context of engineering change management and configuration management.Participate in Engineering Design Reviews.Contribute to or develop Safety Case Reports.Lead small, multidisciplinary teams to deliver specific work packages.Operate within the SPO’s Engineering Management System.Prepare high-quality engineering reports and design contract documents.Adhere to Certification Standards and established industry practices.Build and maintain relationships with key customers and suppliers.Provide mentorship and guidance to team members, including graduates, as required.

Required Qualifications, Experience and Knowledge

Degree qualified engineering professional. Experience with EW and/or Surveillance technologies.Chartered Professional Engineer, desirable but not essentialDemonstrated ability to develop and execute Systems Engineering Management PlansHands-on experience in configuration management practiceExperience in risk managementExperience in Verification and Validation (V&V) planning and test execution.
