The Basics:

The Senior Systems Engineer is responsible for provisioning, configuration, operation, and maintenance of on-premises and cloud-based systems and related infrastructure. You will participate in technical research and development to drive innovation within the infrastructure and surrounding processes. Additionally, this role is responsible for ensuring technology and related processes adhere to ISO27001 and other relevant industry frameworks.

We’re looking for someone with:

Education BS in Computer Science or a related field or equivalent experience  Experience  4+ years as a Systems Administrator, Operations Engineer, Site Reliability Engineer, Cloud Engineer or similar required  5+ years relevant enterprise experience in the following areas: Strong background with Linux, Windows and VMware systems administration and deployment. Direct administration experience with Cloud Computing & Networking Environments. Azure (preferred), AWS and GCP. Experience with Bash, Python and PowerShell scripting Experience with TCP/IP networking and troubleshooting. Experience with backups, high availability and overall infrastructure resiliency for cloud and on-premises technology required Familiarity with monitoring and management of enterprise systems running on physical and cloud infrastructure required Experience with Infrastructure as Code toolsets – e.g. Terraform, Vault. Experience with Configuration Management toolsets - Ansible (Preferred). Experience with SAN storage arrays and troubleshooting. Ability to estimate and manage cloud usage costs and identify and operationalize cost control mechanisms preferred Familiarity with CI tools such as Jenkins or GitHub Actions (preferred) Familiarity with Docker and other container technologies (Kubernetes, ECS) Demonstrated ability to work with Enterprise Architecture, Information Security, GRC, Product Engineering and other teams to drive architectural decisions for cloud and on-premises technologies  Other  Person of high ethics and integrity  Demonstrates strong initiative and motivation  Ability to partner with virtual team members.  Excellent oral and written communication skills  Ability to work in a fast-paced, changing environment  Azure Certifications a plus, but not required  AWS Certifications a plus, but not required

What you’ll get

The annual base salary range for this full-time position is $85,000 to $260,000. This range is an estimate for what Tanium will pay a new hire. The actual annual base salary offered may be adjusted based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, location, education, skills, training, and experience.
