SUMMARY / TASKS
Ensure food and personal safety in the plant.Monitor production conditions, specifications, and process controls.Train quality auditors and develop corrective actions.Analyze cook deviation trends and maintain compliance with weight programs.Develop and monitor product evaluations.Provide cook temperature trend analysis and oven calibration results.Investigate and resolve food safety holds.Verify sanitation inspections and update procedures as needed.Schedule and lead weekly management meetings.Coordinate SQF requirements and work with USDA for compliance.Collaborate with Production, Customer Relations, Sales, and Warehousing.Stay updated on regulatory changes and industry advances.Champion improvement projects and manage department resources.Review budgeted line items monthly.All other responsibilities as required.Supervisory Responsibilities:
Supervise up to 5 employees in the quality department.Interview, hire, train, and promote employees.Plan, assign, and direct work; appraise performance.REQUIREMENTS:
Education: Bachelors degree in Food Safety preferred.
Experience: 2-5 years in a meat food manufacturing environment with poultry experience a plus. Proven record of leading teams and HACCP certified preferred.
Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Computer Skills: Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook proficiency. Ability to learn SAP and Safety Chain quickly
Special Skills: Strong problem-solving skills. Ability to know all processes involved in plant production in order to identify where potential hazards might exist. Must have HACCP knowledge and training and be able to interpret statistical charts and data.
Supervisory: This position is responsible for supervising a group of personnel who perform somewhat identical and related tasks or activities.
Travel: 1 to 3 trips per year.
