Senior Staff Packaging Engineer
Work Flexibility: Hybrid or Onsite

Position Summary

Leads the packaging development process for quality, cost effective and changes need to packaging designs for existing products.  Assist in providing oversight to other engineers with respect to implant packaging design.

What you will do:

Main interface between Product Development / Product Marketing Teams / Advanced Operations / External Customers and the Global Packaging Group.Gather both internal and external VOC (Voice of Customer) requirements for the specific Product / Package launch and develop the initial Pack Solution concepts.Completion of the Packaging Design requirements document for each specific Product / Package utilising the Customer requirements feedback.Develop initial Project timelines.Develop and conduct preliminary feasibility design testing for all new packaging designs/conceptsLead and provide strategic direction and support to the group.Provide direction to other members of the Packaging Development Group in complex or difficult situations, address obstacles, identify resource needs and interact with other areas of the business to assist team in overcoming problems and streamlining the work process.Provide strategic direction in relevant areas of responsibility (Packaging development) and work with AO and operations on new process efforts.  Assist in the establishment of priorities, imparting a sense of urgency and importance to effective project management and delivery of new products to the market on time and within the right cost structure.Model team values and demonstrate enthusiasm and commitment to the Packaging Groups organizational vision, high degree of participation in problem solving and decision making both locally and globally.Review progress of Package Design Development both internally with the Global Packaging Solutions Group and our Customers.Prepare and present status reports, as required to varying audiences and forums. Participate and represent the Packaging Group organization at the weekly change reviews and project reviews as appropriate.Develop the existing Packaging design portfolio in terms of new pack designs, new technologies and new materials where applicable.Support FDA and world wide submissions through design rationales and compliance to industry standards.Lead and Participate cross-functional projects teams in all aspects of medical device packaging.Provide mentoring where applicable to the other members of the Packaging GroupEnsure awareness of regulatory and compliance requirements such as ISO 11607 during the Package design development phase.All other duties as assigned.

What you will need:

The individual must have a minimum of 7 years relevant packaging experience.Degree or Higher in Engineering, Science or Business discipline is essential.Business understanding of operations and their individual impact is essential.Strong communication skills with both Internal and external agents.Flexibility essential with strong project management skills.The individual should enjoy working in a dynamic and results motivated team based.Self starter with demonstrated efficient work methods, analytical & problem solving skills and ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast paced environment.PC literate and strong knowledge of Microsoft Office tools are essential.
