**Senior / Staff NPI R&D Engineer - Medical Device (San Diego, CA)** In this role you’ll be a critical component of a cross-functional team responsible for the design and development of our next generation Intravascular Ultrasound Cardiac Catheters. **Your role:** + You're responsible for the mechanical design and development of catheter components, creation of test methods and fixtures, and writing and executing plans, protocols, and reports. + You’re strong technically, with excellent strategic thinking skills, who will own a large part of product design and development for medical devices. + You’re a partner and a role model, within R&D and with our cross-functional teams. You’re a collaborator and an influencer, capable of developing creative solutions, acquiring necessary resources, and implementing them. + You’re interested in deepening your subject matter expertise while developing in new areas of interest. You’re constantly learning and committed to setting a higher standard. You are looking for “new and better” ways of doing things. **You're the right fit if:** + You’ve acquired 8+ (Senior) / 12+ (Staff) years of experience supporting medical device design and development, preferably on intravascular products (e.g. catheters, guidewires, balloons, stents). Experience with electromechanical products, including ASIC/transducer and ultrasound technology is highly desirable. + You have an interest in growing into a technical lead / core team lead and may have led portions of new product development projects. + You have a B.S in Engineering (e.g. Mechanical, Biomedical) or higher. + Your skills include advanced technical design in SolidWorks, product testing/evaluation, statistical data analysis, and solid technical writing and communication. You have experience developing requirements and specifications, prototyping, and design selection. You have developed and validated test methods, executed root cause analysis, and implemented corrective actions. In addition, other compensation, such as an annual incentive bonus, sales commission or long-term incentives may be offered.
