Position Summary:

At CSC, we're seeking talented SQL Database Administrators who are passionate about optimizing and maintaining our databases. As an SQL Database Administrator, you'll play a pivotal role in ensuring the reliable performance and data integrity of our databases, utilizing your technical proficiency in SQL database administration and ITIL practices.

Some of the things you will be doing:

You'll be responsible for administering, optimizing, and maintaining SQL databases to ensure optimal performance and data integrity. Your expertise in SQL database management and ITIL practices will be instrumental in providing tailored solutions to meet the needs of our business units.

Administering, optimizing, and maintaining SQL databases for optimal performance and data integrity Implementing and following ITIL best practices in database management Collaborating with business units to understand their database requirements and providing tailored solutions Responding to and resolving database-related issues to minimize downtime and ensure uninterrupted services Conducting regular database performance assessments and data backups Staying current with emerging database technologies and industry best practices Providing technical expertise and support to internal teams on database-related matters

What technical skills, experience, and qualifications do you need?

Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience) Proven eight-plus years’ experience in SQL database administration, ITIL practices, and delivering a consistent and seamless database experience Strong technical background in SQL database management, optimization, and ITIL framework Familiarity with database security, data backup, and best practices Excellent problem-solving skills and meticulous attention to detail Effective communication skills for collaboration with diverse business units and teams Relevant certifications such as ITIL certifications are advantageous Automate server builds and operational tasks for zero-touch delivery Hands on experience with PowerShell, SQL scripting, and SQL Server PowerShell modules Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code concepts and tools like Ansible Tower Familiarity with YAML, ansible modules Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git) and CI/CD pipelines
