Our Perth Corporate office is currently seeking a Senior Mine Planning Specialist to join the Corporate Technical team to support this mining function.
Reporting to the Manager - Mining Underground, the role purpose is to provide underground and open pit mine engineering support for selected assets within the Anglo Gold Ashanti portfolio.
 

Whilst a Perth based role, this will require travel to sites both domestically and internationally within the group portfolio when required.
 

This position will also include some Mine Planning related support and technical expertise across our global entities within AGA.
 

Accountabilities:
 

Provide Mining and Mine Planning support, input and technical advice to all assigned Operations. This includes improving planning practices at the sites as part of Operational Excellence. Deliver technical input and support for the mining components of studies and project stage gate reviews as assigned. Collaborating closely with the business units, in the development of Integrated plans identifying opportunities, and provide coaching to engineers Assist operations globally in Full Asset Potential processes to measure cost and operational performance. The development, enhancing and supporting of designated fit-for-purpose mining related planning systems, and then subsequently ensuring the systems are in place and operating effectively with results analysed and reported appropriately. Provide support to AGA’s Mineral Resource and Ore Reserves processes. Investigating business and operational opportunities through mining related technologies and overseeing testing trials as required. Maintaining and supporting appropriate Policy, Guidelines and Standards, and subsequent monitoring and reporting of compliance to those standards

About You:

A degree qualification in a relevant mining-related discipline A minimum of 8 years relevant experience in the mining industry Advanced design and scheduling software skills Sound practical understanding of the entire mining value chain including mining, geotechnical, metallurgy and projects Demonstrated capacity to make sound short-term tactical decisions – quickly assembling and interpreting data to successfully action priorities Strong interpersonal, influencing and communication skills with stakeholder engagement and management A willingness to work with a diverse team comprising technical and operational members.
