Senior Specialist: VB Finance Business Partner A&R

Role Purpose:

 

To provide the Vodacom Business (VB) sales, commercial and finance teams with financial and commercial insights on key drivers for acquisition and retention (A&R) costs. To work with the sales and commercial teams to monitor and ensure effective cost management practices are in place, and to partner with the FinOps department to ensure correct accounting (IFRS15) treatment is applied in recognition of A&R costs.

To implement process enhancements to limit financial losses due to error or poor business decisions and to monitor the effectiveness of those controls.

Your responsibilities will include:

 

Strong finance support business partner to sales, product, pricing and commercial teams

Support the various business units with finance investment decision analysis and ensure mobile deals are structured in a way that maximises A&R cost investment.Implement cadence with the business to constantly and proactively monitor costs to ensure no cost overruns are incurred.Implement internal controls and monitor the effectiveness of those controls to ensure costs are maintained and transactions are correctly recorded. Regularly monitor costs and identify trends. Investigate reasons for any differences in trends.

Simplify and standardise modelling, reporting and processes wherever possible whilst ensuring that the requirements of the business are deliveredThe ideal candidate for this role will have:

 

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Actuarial science, or applied mathematics - essentialHonours Degree in Statistics,Big Data Analytics, Actuarial Science, or Applied Maths; CA(SA) – advantageousMinimum of 7 years of experience working in a large corporate, inclusive of:experience in large sets of dataExperience in financial and business information analysis and reporting 

 

Job-Related Skills:

Strong financial modelling skillsAbility to balance complex detail with wider commercial mattersAction-oriented / sense of urgencyAdvanced skills in Excel Ability to work with large data sets.


Job Knowledge:
