Senior Specialist, Low Carbon Innovations
Job description / Role Employment: Full Time

JOB PURPOSE :

Support to scouting, analysis, and post-closing management of investments in technology startups, within the broader team mandate to develop a low carbon business and enabling the broader decarbonization ambitions of ADNOC.

Development and implementation of sustainable, low-carbon technologies and practices within ADNOC. Responsible for researching, strategizing, and executing initiatives aimed at reducing carbon footprint and advancing ADNOC sustainability goals and business development.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Job Specific Accountabilities
- Identify, evaluate, and execute investment opportunities in alignment with the fund's strategic objectives and investment criteria, with a focus on clean technologies and energy transition.
- Conduct market research, industry analysis, financial modeling, valuation, due diligence, and deal structuring for potential investments.
- Prepare and present investment proposals and recommendations to the fund's investment committee and senior management.
- Manage and monitor the performance of the fund's portfolio companies and provide strategic and operational support as needed.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including Adnoc's business units, portfolio companies, co-investors, advisors, and industry experts.
- Support the fund's business development, marketing, and reporting activities.

Supervision
- Plan, supervise and coordinate all activities in the assigned area to meet functional objectives.
- Train and develop the assigned staff on relevant skills to enable them to become proficient on the job and deliver the respective business objectives.

Budgets
- Provide input for preparation of the Function / Division / Department / Section budgets, assist in the implementation of the approved Budget, and work plans to deliver business objectives.
- Investigate and highlight any significant variances to support effective performance and cost control.

Policies, Systems, Processes & Procedures
- Implement approved Function/ Division/ Department/ Section policies, processes, systems, standards and procedures in order to support execution of the work programs in line with Company and International standards.

Performance Management
- Contribute to the achievement of the approved Performance Objectives for the Function/ Division / Department/ Section in line with the Company Performance framework.

Innovation and Continuous Improvement
- Design and implement new tools and techniques to improve the quality and efficiency of operational processes.
- Identify improvements in internal processes against best practices in pursuit of greater efficiency in line with best industry standards in order to define intelligent solutions for issues confronting the function.

Health, Safety, Environment (HSE) and Sustainability
- Comply with relevant HSE policies, procedures, controls, applicable legislation, and sustainability guidelines in line with international standards, best practices and ADNOC Code of Practices.

Reports
- Provide inputs to prepare MIS and progress reports for Company Management.

COMMUNICATIONS & WORKING RELATIONSHIPS:

Internal
- Low Carbon Solutions Organization.
- Group Technology Organization
- Other Directorates / Function as required.

External
- ADNOC Group strategic partners

Requirements:

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:
Minimum Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in financial, engineering or legal discipline, Master's degree is preferred .

Minimum Experience & Knowledge & Skills
- 5 years experience in Energy industry and exposure in Energy Transition matters
- Experience in due diligence and deal structuring.
- Familiarity with origination activities and network in Energy Transition or Oil & Gas industries.
- Power Point and Excel ninja.
- Experience in corporate venture capital organizations/functions is highly preferred.
- Strong analytical, financial, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to conduct complex and data-driven analysis and deliver clear and concise recommendations.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a multicultural and cross-functional team.
- High level of initiative, creativity, and entrepreneurial mindset, with the ability to identify and pursue new opportunities and generate innovative solutions.
- Passion for innovation and technology, with a keen interest in the energy sector and its transformation.
- Comfortable in dealing with ambiguities, flat teams and fast-pace ever-changing priorities
- Nice to have: side hustles, startup or collateral business experience, or at least exposure.
- Nice to have: exposure to AI and machine learning segments.
