Job: 33967-DCOL Location: US-MA-Natick Department: Software Process EngineeringWill be responsible for analyzing data, building data models and improving the software development process; solving challenging business issues with a data and insight-driven approach; performing end-to-end execution of the data science process that adhere to MathWorks design patterns, including understanding business requirements, data discovery and extraction, model development and evaluation; monitoring data and reporting trends, and leveraging best practices across the industry and the broader organization; utilizing MATLAB and Simulink for analyzing and building statistical models to solve specific business problems; analyzing, designing, developing and maintaining new or existing models and databases in Amazon Web Services (AWS), Snowflake, and SQL Server to ensure data is current and aligned with business logic; collaborating with user experience researchers, developers, and business leaders to design metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs) and drive new business initiatives with the ultimate purpose of improving the MathWorks products.

Minimum Qualifications:
Education and Experience:
Master’s degree in Engineering, Engineering Management, Computer Science or a closely related field (or foreign education equivalent) and two (2) years of experience as a Senior Software Process Engineer (or related occupation) performing development and testing of software data models.
OR
Ph.D. degree in Engineering, Engineering Management, Computer Science or a closely related field (or foreign education equivalent) and no experience.
OR
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Engineering Management, Computer Science or a closely related field (or foreign education equivalent) and five (5) years of experience as a Senior Software Process Engineer (or related occupation) performing development and testing of software data models.
Special Requirements:
Demonstrated expertise using business intelligence tools -- Power BI and Tableau -- to derive insights from large datasets (5M+ data points) through metrics and KPIs. Demonstrated expertise performing data manipulation, extraction and aggregation using complex SQL queries within data warehouses in AWS, SQL Server, and Snowflake. Demonstrated expertise programming in MATLAB and Simulink; and implementing the data science workflow, including applying statistical techniques and machine learning algorithms to support data model architecture. Demonstrated expertise translating business requirements into technical requirements for data-driven decisions.[Expertise may be gained during Graduate program.]
