As a Senior Software Engineering, you will be tasked with scripting and automation tooling, enabling efficient and scalable solutions for a group of Network Service Delivery applications and infrastructure. The infrastructure resides both in Azure and on-prem requiring the candidate to perform deployments and management of infrastructure, ensuring optimal performance and security.  A strong foundation in cloud technologies, automation, and infrastructure management, with a commitment to best practices and continuous improvement, will ensure reliability and resiliency in the function and enhancing delivery for applications.


Key Roles and Responsibilities:

Design, Development and Coding:

Design and code software applications by applying various programming languages to execute development methodologies

Design AND code applications

Collaboration and Communication:

Gather and review software requirements, provide estimates, create design specifications, and work with engineers/architects to assess and test hardware and software interactions

Testing and Debugging:

Develop and implement automated test plans, validate test environments, data, and results, design and implement code fixes, and produce reporting

Maintenance and Support:

Troubleshoot and resolve application configuration and environment issues

Deployment:

Facilitate and support the software deployment process

Advanced, interdisciplinary knowledge, resolving difficult and complex issues using broad professional concepts

Guides others, applying advanced principles and company practices

Leads moderate sized projects (or parts of larger projects) with strategic value

Operates autonomously with frequent senior leadership interaction

Designs and codes complex applications

Ability to design a solution spanning multiple domain functions

Builds software as craftsmanship and implements high-quality code that adheres to the company standards in coding, testing and security

Required Experience:

3-5 years’ experience. Technical Career Pathway (TCP) role

Expert-level command of the Linux command line, demonstrating the ability to perform complex tasks and troubleshoot issues effectively

Experience with Virtual Machines (VMs), including deployment and configuration via cloud-init scripts, to support scalable cloud infrastructure

Proficiency in Kubernetes, with the ability to manage applications via the command line, optimizing deployment and scaling strategies

Proficient working knowledge of GitHub, with a solid understanding of revision control concepts, facilitating effective version management and collaboration

Recognized as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in Azure, with extensive experience in the deployment and management of Azure infrastructure, ensuring optimal performance and security

Desired Experience:

Demonstrated expert knowledge in scripting and automation tooling, enabling efficient and scalable solutions

Skilled in Terraform scripting and module development, enabling the creation of reusable and maintainable infrastructure as code

Advanced skills in Ansible, including scripting, playbook creation, and role definition, to automate and streamline operations. Intermediate proficiency in Jira, capable of efficiently managing projects and tracking issues to ensure timely resolution

Knowledge of Entra ID and App Registrations, ensuring secure and efficient application integration within the cloud environment

Demonstrate a strong foundation in cloud technologies, automation, and infrastructure management, with a commitment to best practices and continuous improvement

Desired Education:

Bachelors of Science degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Applied Science, Electrical Engineering, or Math; Developer nanodegree; or equivalent experience preferred

Our Senior Software Engineering earns between $116,700 - $196,100 annually.  Not to mention all the other amazing rewards that working at AT&T offers. Individual starting salary within this range may depend on geography, experience, expertise, and education/training.
