Senior Software Engineer (Stability Optimization)
Job Description:

The Role

The Workplace Investment Quality Engineering CoE team is looking for a utility player who can play a vital role in supporting our Stock Plan Services (SPS) Client Validation Testing (CVT) events. We do this by coordinating the response to environment issues while also supporting our applications in a customer facing test environment.
 

Required Expertise A bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Software engineering or related field Hands on experience on the mainframe side with application development & maintenance At least 6 years of experience working in sophisticated production environment, including mainframe, on-Prem and Cloud Knowledge of ETL, Java, Python, or other Distributed Technologies, including experience in Cloud platform such as AWS and/or Azure Confirmed experience of mainframe development/tools including COBOL, CICS, db2, JCL, VSAM, MQ, etc. and writing COBOL/Native stored procedures Experience working with CI/CD pipelines stacks like GitHub, Stash, Jenkins, Concourse, Ansible, Maven, JUnit, Docker, JMeter, Artifactory, Sonar, Veracode, Kubernetes, Udeploy Experience with monitoring systems such as CloudWatch, Datadog/Splunk, ELK stack Guiding resources assigned to the incident and ensures the incident is receiving the accurate support to drive resolution as quickly as possible Capability to partner with Operations and Customers on stability opportunities based upon reporting/trending findings as well as operational readiness Good technical background with the ability to discuss architecture, hardware, and software concepts and convey those concepts to team members, and/or other contributors across the organization Deeply self-motivated and independent, while coordinating activities within cross-regional and multi-functional teams Able to mentor team members in areas where you have domain expertise and able to coordinate with partners on

  Responsibilities Provide day to day technical and functional mentorship to the team on Mainframe and Distributed applications Help in research and resolution of issues impacting client testing related to Mainframe and ETL/Informatica applications Ensure mainframe job abends are resolved immediately and come up with solutions to proactively resolve frequent abends Coordinate on new/upcoming code changes/functionality in both Mainframe and Modernized platform Collaborate with Distributed teams in supporting any upcoming client testing events Work closely with business partners to identify challenges and areas of improvement
