Senior Software Engineer II

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Interface with other technical personnel or team members to finalize requirements. Write and review portions of detailed specifications for the development of complex system components. Complete complex bug fixes. Work closely with other development team members to understand complex product requirements and translate them into software designs. Successfully implement development processes, coding best practices, and code reviews. Operate in various development environments (Agile, Waterfall, etc.) while collaborating with key stakeholders. Resolve complex technical issues as necessary. Train entry-level software engineers as directed by department management, ensuring they are knowledgeable in critical aspects of their roles. Keep abreast of new technology developments. Design and work with complex data models. Mentor less-senior software developers on development methodologies and optimization techniques. Perform other duties as needed.

REQUIREMENTS:

Master’s (or foreign equivalent) degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field required.2 years of experience in job offered or related occupations required.Also required is: 2 years of experience: designing, developing, and maintaining high throughput, precise, ultra-low latency industry leading big data linking solutions; working with big data analytics and numerous large data sets/data warehouses; developing applications to help process customer requests using ECL and JAVA technologies; using ECL/HPCC systems to write complex queries using different joins, sub queries, and nested queries and fine-tune long-running queries for efficient data retrieval; generating and owning end-to-end solutions for loosely defined business problems by leveraging pattern detection over potentially large datasets; using big data analytics concepts to design services and interfaces; developing iterative processes to perform advanced data analysis, validate findings or test hypotheses, and communicate results and methodology; and understanding different data structures, algorithms and their usage in solving business problems.Employee reports to LexisNexis Risk Solutions, Inc. office in Alpharetta, GA, but may telecommute from any location within the U.S.Experience can be concurrent.
