Position Description:
Builds Application Programming Interfaces (APIs) with frameworks – REST, SOAP, Java and Spring Boot. Designs and architects Cloud native applications using Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Pivotal Cloud Foundry (PCF). Builds scalable web applications using component-based frameworks -- Angular. Performs unit testing using Java and JUnit frameworks. Builds automation pipelines by leveraging DevOps concepts and Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) tools including Jenkins, Maven, uDeploy, and Bamboo. Provides business solutions by developing complex or multiple software applications.
Primary Responsibilities:
Develops original and creative technical solutions to on-going development efforts.
Designs applications or subsystems on major projects and for/in multiple platforms.
Develops applications for multiple projects supporting several divisional initiatives.
Supports and performs all phases of testing leading to implementation.
Assists in the planning and conducting of user acceptance testing.
Develops comprehensive documentation for multiple applications supporting several corporate initiatives.
Responsible for post-installation testing of any problems.
Establishes project plans for projects of moderate scope.
Works on complex assignments and often multiple phases of a project.
Performs independent and complex technical and functional analysis for multiple projects supporting several initiatives.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Computer and Information Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, Mathematics, Physics, or a closely related field and three (3) years of experience as a Senior Software Engineer/Developer (or closely related occupation) developing client/server applications within a Cloud computing environment.
Or, alternatively, Master’s degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Computer and Information Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, Mathematics, Physics, or a closely related field and one (1) year of experience as a Senior Software Engineer/Developer (or closely related occupation) developing client/server applications within a Cloud computing environment.
Skills and Knowledge:
Candidate must also possess:
Demonstrated Expertise (“DE”) designing and implementing high performant, scalable multi-agent and distributed architecture using Java, Spring MVC, and Spring Boot framework; and developing client/server applications using Java, Spring Boot framework, AWS, PCF, and JUnit.
DE designing, developing, and deploying Cloud native services using AWS technologies (EC2, SQS, and SNS) and PCF; and designing high performing message flows using Active MQ, Apache Camel, and Apache Kafka.
DE testing customer-facing enterprise back-end applications pre- and post-installation, including performing unit testing, integration testing, and end-to-end testing using Java and JUnit.
DE performing Continuous Integration (CI) and Continuous Deployment (CD) by building pipelines to automate the building, testing, and deployment of software applications using Jenkins, Bamboo, and UDeploy; and building dashboards to monitor the performance of the software applications using Splunk.
