Job Title: Senior Software Engineer [MULTIPLE POSITIONS]

Duties: Develop GUI (Graphical user interface), CAD translators, CAE translators, including Abaqus, Ansys, LS-Dyna, and algorithms in support of multi-threading for the Femap product, an advanced simulation application for creating, editing, and inspecting finite element models of complex products or systems. Create a specialized software product that allows engineers to build simulations to predict the mechanical and dynamic response of a structure to varying physical conditions. Work in the field of structural mechanics and dynamics. Investigate and solve customer problems presented in the form of problem reports. Review and identify Enhancement Requests (ERs) that are desirable to support in Femap. Develop interoperability tools with Python to facilitate improved user defined algorithms and User Interface (UI) customization. Work with Femap User Experience (UX) designers to design and build new UI components using commercial frameworks. Work in cross-functional teams to integrate various Digital Industry components to support new file formats and provide cutting edge capabilities. Maintain existing CAE translators. Design and implement core CAD functionality. Support and add functionality to the Femap Charting capabilities using GUI toolkits.


Requirements: Employer will accept a Master's degree, or its foreign equivalent, in Software Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or in a related field, and 36 months of experience in the job offered or in a Software Developer - related occupation. Position requires experience in the following: CAE (Computer aided Engineering) software development in C++; Visual Basic.NET; Writing algorithms for 3D geometry engines and mesh generation; Simulation tool creation for structural engineering problems using the Finite Element method; Working with materials, properties, Simulation Entities, boundary conditions as well as element formulations and behaviors for 1D, 2D and 3D elements; Working with the Abaqus CAE pre/postprocessor and solver. 5% domestic and international travel required. 50% telecommuting is permitted within commutable distance.
