**About the Role** We are looking for a highly motivated backend engineer to join the Uber Eats Search and Discovery Team. You will play a critical role in **enhancing the search experience for millions of Uber Eats users worldwide**. You will leverage your expertise in software development and engineering excellence to draw insights and optimize search algorithms, ultimately improving user satisfaction and operational efficiency. You will be collaborating closely with the science, product and frontend engineering organizations to deliver holistic search experiences. **What the Candidate Will Need / Bonus Points** \-\-\-\- What the Candidate Will Do ---- 1. Design, develop, and maintain robust and scalable software solutions. 2. Find opportunities and lead of the entire development lifecycle end-to-end, from architecture design and coding to testing and deployment to end-to-end observability and long-term ownership. \-\-\-\- Basic Qualifications ---- 1. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science 2. 8+ years of professional experience software development experience with a track record of increasing responsibility and impact. 3. Programming languages: Highly proficient with Go. Experience with Python. 4. Demonstrated experience developing sophisticated backend systems and longer-term ownership of critical backend services and infrastructure. 5. Bias towards action and proven track record of getting things done and continuous delivery. \-\-\-\- Preferred Qualifications ---- 1. Big Data: Proficiency building data pipelines. Experience using PySpark and SQL at scale with large data sets.
