If you want to work on cutting edge Air Force programs, Serco has a great opportunity for you!   As a Senior Software and Computer Engineer, you will be supporting the Special Programs Division (AFLCMC/WAG) at Wright-Patterson AFB, Ohio (No telework/remote work at this location).  This is not an EPASS contract.

 

An active SECRET security clearance with background investigation current within the past 6 years or under Continuous Evaluation.  Ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) access and apply for a TOP-SECRET security clearance with Sensitive Compartmented Information.

 

The Fighters and Advanced Aircraft, Special Programs Division develops, tests, and rapidly fields classified Air Force aeronautical capabilities. AFLCMC/WAG conducts studies to identify new capabilities; transitions laboratory technologies to operational platforms; executes demonstrations; and develops, tests, and rapidly fields new capabilities for the warfighter. You will be providing bold and innovative computer engineering solutions on multiple programs by working with labs, test organizations, operational users, prime contractors, and subcontractors.

 

In this role, you will:

Develop software and computer engineering strategies in support of the acquisition, development, and sustainment of weapon systems, subsystems, and/or support equipmentAssess the interfaces and interaction of a computer system’s software, firmware, and hardware.  Includes real-time operating systems and embedded processing for mission or safety applications.Actively participate in software-centric technical reviews and transitioning efforts from traditional methodologies to Agile and continuous deliveryDesign workflows and production processes for software capabilitiesTranslate user requirements into system requirementsConduct assessments of DoD contractor software deliveries for aircraft / test equipmentAnalyze software performance deficiencies; make recommendations for corrective actionAudit DoD contractors for software configuration and control measures and verify appropriate quality accreditationEvaluate contractor proposed design changes and solutions, perform systems analyses and technological/trade-off study assessmentsReview the system design software architecture and interoperability requirementsEvaluate system test plans for software and participate in the conduct of system, subsystem, and component testing; review and analyze test data; make recommendationsAssess communication bus architectures, Field Programmable Gate Arrays (FPGA), and firmware & hardware layer developmentSupport development and review of program and contract documentationConduct technical evaluations of contractor proposals

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will have:           

A U.S. citizenshipAn active SECRET security clearance with background investigation current within the past 6 years or under Continuous Evaluation.  Ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) access and apply for a TOP-SECRET security clearance with Sensitive Compartmented InformationBachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering with 12 years of relevant DoD, Aerospace, or Defense industry work experience or Master’s Degree with 10 years of relevant work experience (will consider less years of experience) In-depth knowledge of DoD acquisition software and computer engineering support to include software design, integration, configuration, test/evaluation, and certificationCurrent knowledge of software development methodology and tools to include Agile and continuous deliveryExperience with operating systems, software languages, computer hardware platformsExperience in integrating DoD cybersecurity considerations into software architecturesThe ability to travel 10%

Additional desired experience and skills:

 

An active TOP-SECRET security clearance with the ability to obtain and maintain a Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI), Special Access Program (SAP) and have eligibility with background investigation current within the past 6 years or under Continuous EvaluationMaster’s Degree in an engineering related fieldSpecial Access Program or SCI experience
