Social Media Specialist

Introduction to team

We create and deliver an aligned, dedicated marketing strategy to fuel each Expedia Group brand's success. Since our travelers interact with us through our brands, we have a brand focus in our marketing, while leveraging the scale and efficiency we’ve built in functional expertise. 

In this role, you'll play a key part in building an epic social presence for EG across the globe. You'll be responsible for developing and executing content strategies, managing content calendars, and ensuring our social media efforts align with business objectives. In this role, you will:

Develop and execute social media strategies that engage and inspire global audiences.

Create detailed campaign briefs, ensuring clear direction and consistency across teams.

Serve as the social media expert, providing guidance on best practices for creative content.

Lead the identification and partnership with creators who align with our brand values.

Manage global creator programs and ensure content calendars are consistently on track.

Oversee budgets and ensure efficient allocation of resources for creator-driven content.

Set and monitor KPIs, using social media data to continually optimize content performance.

Amplify Expedia's brand voice across social platforms, maintaining a unified tone and identity.

Stay ahead of emerging social media trends and leverage new platforms and features.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams and external partners to drive shared goals.

Foster a creative, inclusive, and collaborative work environment.

Work closely with paid teams to align social media campaigns with broader paid initiatives.

Experience and qualifications:

Minimum 3+ years of experience in social media marketing, with a proven track record of success in a content strategist role.

Experience in working on a global team with demonstrated experience across multiple regions preferred.

In-depth knowledge of major social media platforms and best practices, including paid boosting advertising strategies, and campaign and community management.

Strategic and creative thinking. Able to source out-of-the-box ideas and creator partnerships.

Strong understanding of social media analytics and reporting tools, with the ability to translate data insights into actionable strategies.

Familiarity with tools like Sprinklr, Microsoft SharePoint, and Keynote a plus.

Inherent understanding of Internet culture, social demographics, how to build community, and know how to show up on social in an authentic way.

Passion for travel and the tourism industry, with a keen understanding of regional and local market social landscapes.

Experience working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Can overcome roadblocks and take a solution-oriented approach when met with a challenge.

A strategic thinker with the ability to develop and execute complex plans.

Experience with influencer marketing, particularly within the travel industry a plus.

The total cash range for this position in West Hollywood is $82,500.00 to $115,500.00. Employees in this role have the potential to increase their pay up to $132,000.00, which is the top of the range, based on ongoing, demonstrated, and sustained performance in the role.

Starting pay for this role will vary based on multiple factors, including location, available budget, and an individual’s knowledge, skills, and experience. Pay ranges may be modified in the future.
