We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Senior Security Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for protecting our organization’s information systems by designing, implementing, and managing robust security measures. The Security Engineer will work closely with other IT professionals to identify and address security vulnerabilities and ensure the highest level of data protection.
This position reports to the Director of Infrastructure. WHAT YOU’LL DO Design and Implement Security Measures: Develop and deploy security protocols, firewalls, and intrusion detection/prevention systems to safeguard the organization’s digital assets. Monitor Security Systems: Continuously monitor network traffic and system activity to detect and respond to security breaches or potential threats. Incident Response: Collaborate on and coordinate responses to security incidents, including analyzing root causes, mitigating damage, and implementing preventive measures. Security Audits and Assessments: Conduct regular security audits and vulnerability assessments to identify and rectify security weaknesses. Develop Security Policies: Create and maintain comprehensive security policies, procedures, and guidelines in line with industry best practices and regulatory requirements. Stay Updated: Keep abreast of the latest cybersecurity trends, threats, and technology developments to ensure the organization’s defenses remain current and effective. Collaborate with Teams: Work closely with IT, DevOps, and other relevant departments to integrate security practices into all stages of the software development lifecycle. Training and Awareness: Educate employees on security best practices and the importance of maintaining a secure environment.WHO YOU ARE:
Skills you already have:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field. Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CEH, or CISM are highly desirable. Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a security engineering or related role. Proficiency with security tools and technologies (e.g., firewalls, IDS/IPS, SIEM systems). Strong understanding of network protocols, operating systems, and common security frameworks (e.g., NIST CSF, ISO 27001, CIS). Experience with penetration testing and vulnerability management. Knowledge of scripting and programming languages (e.g., Goalng, Python, Bash) is a plus. Microsoft Azure and AWS and their supporting security tools and frameworks. Web Application Firewalls, such as Imperva or Cloudflare. Vulnerability scanners such as Qualys, Nessus, Nexpose, Tripwire IP360 SIEM such as IBM QRadar, Sumo Logic, Splunk, Azure Sentinel. Development tools such as ADO (Azure DevOps), GitHub, Jira Container technologies, Kubernetes, AKS This job is for you if you have: Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
