Senior Sea Freight Specialist
Purpose of the Job Job Description

Aramex a leading global provider of logistics and transportation solutions that include express courier delivery, freight forwarding, supply chain management, e-commerce, and record management service is seeking a Senior Ocean Freight Specialist to join our New York (JFK) location.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for reviewing, processing, and growing Ocean Freight products while achieving accuracy and operational excellence. The candidate will also provide customer support to vendors and suppliers related to Ocean Freight function.

Duties and Responsibilities

Set up and prepare various tasks associated with Ocean Freight movements; perform routing and rating analysis including bookings and spot rate requests according to established company procedures; Coordinates other functions, including Operational work, based on departmental needs Recognize key compliance and operational aspects of the client’s cargo shipment Set up and prepare documents necessary for the timely dispatch of shipments Research and analyze the best route/rate combination according to customer requirements and established procedure Be Familiar with cargo handling impact of various commodity types (e.g. magnetic, perishable, over-sized, etc.) Schedule, book and follow up with pick up vendors for the needs of Shipments Know FMC rules and regulations Build strong relationships with Shipping lines and trucking Vendors Handle customer and agent service inquiries; set up and prepare customer and agent invoicing Coordinate documents and process related paperwork per requirements of individual shipments. Communicate and establish relationships with shippers, and customers via email and telephone. Provide tracking and daily updates to customers Know Ocean and the company KPIs Perform related tasks as required or assigned by supervisor/manager. Handle full containers and single shipments from various regions utilizing all modes of transportation. Negotiate rates with truckers and occasionally quote clients and overseas agents. Process and correct miscellaneous accounting issues. Process bookings with Liners and Issue BLs Ensure the customer is provided excellent service throughout the shipping process including quick response to inquiries and problem resolution. Assists in solving inter-company and vendor billing Demonstrate a detailed understanding of processes, procedures, and technology for ocean international transportation Job Responsibilities - Experience and Education

Qualifications

Prior experience in Ocean Freight Forwarding / Logistics is a must FMC regulations Knowledge Must have at least 4 year's experience in International Freight Forwarding handling Ocean Freight out of the US Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word, and Outlook Must have a collaborative and team player personality Basic English reading, writing, and arithmetic skills required. Minimum high school diploma or equivalent. Knowledge of government and national regulations including but not limited to FMC, OTI, Rates filing and contracts
