Senior Resident Engineer - Marine/Cofferdams&Pilings

Role description:

As a Senior Resident Engineer, you will be providing on-site technical expertise, oversight, and coordination to encourage successful execution. Provide oversight for construction activities, coordinating with various stakeholders, and compliance with design specifications, quality standards, and project timelines.

Role accountabilities:

Collaborate closely with the contractor to understand the project schedule and identify any potential challenges. Work together to develop strategies for staying on track and addressing delays. Monitor and track progress regularly. Utilize tools like Gantt charts or project management software to visualize and communicate progress. Ensure timely review and approval of shop drawings to avoid delays in the construction process. Effective communication with the design team and contractor is key. Address RFIs promptly to avoid bottlenecks in decision-making. Efficient communication with all stakeholders is essential to keep the project moving forward. Establish a clear process for handling change orders. Ensure that changes are documented, reviewed, and approved in a timely manner to prevent disruptions. Streamline the payment requisition process to ensure that contractors are paid promptly for work completed. Verify quantities and compliance with project specifications before approving payments. Regularly compare project drawings to the actual work in place to identify any discrepancies or issues. Address changes or modifications as needed. Implement key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure project progress. Regularly analyze data to identify trends and make informed decisions. Stay informed about and ensure compliance with all relevant permit requirements. Regularly communicate with regulatory authorities to address any concerns or changes. Maintain open communication channels with all stakeholders, including government agencies, communities, and other relevant entities. Proactively address concerns and foster positive relationships.

Qualifications & Experience:

Bachelor's degree (BS/BA) in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field. Minimum of 10 or more years’ experience in progressively responsible construction management roles. Experience with marine construction, cofferdams and pilings required.  Familiarity with project management tools like Primavera and Expedition/Contract Manager  P.E. License is preferred.

The salary range for this position is $120,000 - $170,000.
