Senior Reliability Engineer

About you and this role - What you will do in this role

You are a team player that requires minimal supervision. You can lead by influence and collaborate with people of various backgrounds and experiences to achieve common goals.  As a Senior Reliability Engineer, you will align to the Dow Industrial Solutions Business Reliability Leader and be a member of the Amines and Oxygenated Solvents business global network.  You will partner with Operations, Maintenance, and the Business Reliability team to define and implement the proper reliability strategy for primarily the Amines facility in St. Charles, Louisiana.

You will lead the collaborative effort to ensure sustained reliability improvement through utilization of proven reliability practices and techniques.  You have a strategic role that focuses on those opportunities that over a long-term period or historically have impacted the plant’s measured asset capability and the opportunities identified as "high-risk" in risk assessments or other evaluations. You will heavily influence budget needs and spending of approved funds to support the long-term reliability improvement.   

Responsibilities - Duties, projects, tasks, and activities you would be responsible for in this role

Leading Setting of and Achievement of plant Reliability targets.Understanding the purpose and technical details of the equipment in the facility to properly define the optimized reliability strategy for critical equipment.Developing and implementing the Facility Reliability Strategy.Serving as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for equipment prioritization.Identifying and collaborating with others to resolve Top Reliability Opportunities.Facilitating the annual maintenance budget setting process and tracking project and spending progress.Performing critical Root Cause Investigations.Creating Equipment Reliability Strategies based upon Top Plant Opportunities.Working with others to provide front end loading for plant Turnarounds.Facilitating the plant’s Reliability Team and helping foster the use of Highly Reliable Organization (HRO) principles within the unit.Representing the facility in the EOEG business reliability teams and initiatives.Identifying key learning with significant value and leverage across the business reliability network.Serve as Reliability Subject Matter Expert and when needed, uses reliability engineering principles and tools (Weibull, FMEA) to identify and eliminate negative reliability trends and equipment performance.

Qualifications - Required education, experience and abilities that are needed for this role (must haves)

A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering OR relevant military experience at or above a U.S. E6 ranking or Canadian Petty Officer 2nd Class or Sergeant Military ranking required. Mechanical Engineering preferred.A minimum of 3 years reliability, engineering, manufacturing, maintenance or related experience required.Current Valid US Driver's License required.

A minimum requirement for this U.S. based position is the ability to work legally in the United States.  No visa sponsorship/support is available for this position, including for any type of U.S. permanent residency (green card) process.

This position does offer domestic relocation assistance and will be provided based on eligibility.
