Senior Reimbursement Analyst

The Senior Reimbursement Analyst is responsible for ensuring that all governmental and regulatory reports are filed in a timely and accurate manner; maximizes reimbursement from third party payors by following and utilizing reimbursement guidelines, and prepares journal entries, net revenue figures and statistical analysis for monthly financial statements.

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

 Education:    Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance or Accounting required.     

Experience:  3 years of experience in Accounting/Reimbursement required. 5 years of experience in healthcare reimbursement preferred.   Knowledge & proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and Access) required.

RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE POSITION:

Ensures that all governmental and regulatory reports are filed in a timely and accurate manner.  Maximizes reimbursement from third party payors by following and utilizing reimbursement guidelines. Prepares journal entries, statistics & analysis for monthly financial statements and reports. Completes various schedules and statistics for the annual Institutional Cost Report.  Prepares statistical analysis and comparison to prior years for variance explanations. Reviews Medicare related bad debt accounts to determine amounts eligible for reimbursement by the Medicare program. Maintains patient accounting and contract management applications by updating reimbursement rates when necessary.  Produces reports for monthly financial statements, assessment and annual cost reports. Records statistics, prepares journal entries and net revenue analysis. Responsible for filing the monthly NYS DOH Assessment and Public Goods Pools as regulated by New York State. Maintains various Access databases, including monthly Inpatient & Outpatient analyzes and General Ledger database for annual Cost Report. Assists with managed care contract maintenance and facility credentialing activities. Produces reports from the Soarian DSS or Financial systems. Completes required training as assigned. Complies with Hospital and department policies, work rules and requirements. Adheres to patient privacy policies and procedures, maintain confidentiality. Adheres to the Making Ellis Exceptional (MEE) Behaviors & Standards and AIDET (Acknowledge, Identify, Duration, Expectation, Thank) and initiate, promote, and support change initiatives.

Salary Range:  $24.75-36-53     /hour                   Pay is based on experience, skills, and education. Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will be paid within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates. The pay range may also vary within the stated range based on location.
