Senior Regional Operations Manager, Safety
**About the Role** The Iberia (Spain & Portugal), DACH (Germany, Austria, & Switzerland), and Southern, Central & Eastern Europe (SCEE) Safety Team is responsible for enabling sustained business growth. This is achieved by building an industry-leading safety and standards program. In this role, you will lead a variety of core business activities and critical projects to advance our safety mission within the Iberia and DACH regions for Mobility & Delivery at Uber. You should be comfortable in an "all hands on deck" environment, love solving problems, thrive in a hyper-growth culture, and be passionate about the safety of people and cities in which we operate. You will analyze complex issues, develop practical solutions, communicate your insights to the business, partner with multiple internal and external collaborators, and implement changes for immediate business impact. You will have end-to-end responsibility for the design, execution, and management of your projects. Your work will have a tangible impact, improving safety in the Mobility & Delivery space. **What You'll Do** 1. Take ownership for Mobility & Delivery safety in the Iberia & DACH regions to ensure that Uber is the platform of choice when it comes to safety 2. Design and implement scalable processes and initiatives to improve safety on the Uber platform 3. Understand the business objectives and plans in order to advise on safety implications and give strategic recommendations to senior management 4. Work closely with your EMEA counterparts to ensure best practices and lessons learned are shared widely, thus scaling your impact 5. Drive improvements in incident handling metrics, fostering compliance with our reporting obligations and improving customer experience 6. Work with legal, risk, product and engineering teams to build and deploy innovative technology solutions that support our goals of reducing safety incidents on the platform 7. Support the launch of comms campaigns, educational content, strategic partnerships, and other safety initiatives **What You'll Need** 1. 5+ years of proven experience in one or more of: business operations / product operations / safety / security / consulting or related areas is preferred, but we will consider candidates with less experience if they meet our other requirements 2. Excellent project management, planning and organization skills bringing order and simplicity to ambiguous problems and aligning all parties through to execution 3. English proficiency **What You'll Do** 1. Ability to drive progress across a wide variety of partners, across different regions and levels of the organization, and communicate clear priorities 2. Ability to take initiative in a constantly-changing work environment 3. Ability to work asynchronously across multiple timezones. Willingness to travel. 4. Demonstrated experience interpreting and presenting data to various audiences; ability to translate quantitative findings into action plans 5. Safety, compliance, fraud detection and prevention experience 6.
