Job Overview
The Senior Quality Engineer will play a crucial role in ensuring the reliability, performance, and safety of our mining shovels. This role will work closely with cross-functional teams to implement quality control processes, drive continuous improvement initiatives, and uphold our commitment to delivering superior products to our customers. This position will have Quality Inspectors or Quality Engineers reporting into.
Key Job Responsibilities
+ Establish and maintain quality control systems to ensure that products and processes conform to Komatsu standards.
+ Develop quality plans for major weldments and assemblies
+ Develop first article quality control and inspection plans
+ Assess the need for weld related improvements.
+ Conduct weld/fabrication product and process audits.
+ Collaborates with design and manufacturing teams to ensure product specifications and standards are met with highest quality.
+ Conduct internal and external audits to ensure compliance with internal, ISO 9001 elements and regulatory requirements.
+ Analyze quality data and identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
+ Drive improvement through RCCM (Root Cause Counter Measure) with the team to reduce COPQ (Cost of Poor Quality).
+ Ensures timely disposition of all non-conforming issues.
+ Leadership: Develop and grow talent for the direct reports in alignment with the company's culture
+ Contribute to building and maintaining a positive team environment
+ Support ME/IE, Engineering & warranty in failure analysis activities of OE product.
+ Develops and maintains documentation related to quality processes and procedures.
+ Provides technical expertise and support for quality-related matters to internal and external stakeholders.
+ Stays current with industry trends and advancements in quality control and assurance.
+ Conduct Exit Audits to confirm product conformity.
+ Create rework orders as required.
+ Develop and improve quality control processes and procedures in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
+ Deploy standard tools, methodologies, practices & processes.
+ Other duties as assigned
Qualifications/Requirements
+ Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering or a related Engineering field.
+ Having CWI, MT, PT certification will be highly desirable.
+ Minimum 5-6 years of experience in welding & fabrication manufacturing environment
+ Knowledge in heat treatment, machining and mechanical assembly is preferred.
+ Minimum 3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment utilizing APQP, Control Plan & PFMEA.
+ Strong knowledge of quality control standards, techniques, and tools.
+ Strong knowledge in ISO 9001 quality management systems and internal auditing.
+ Working experience with SOLIDWORKS/SOLIDWORKS Inspection is a plus.
+ Possess excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
+ Experience with PDCA to drive quality improvement & problem solving.
+ A proactive, detail-oriented individual with a strong commitment to excellence and a passion for driving continuous improvement
